surely the finger points at You  !
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

You might want to try Angel's Egg. Absolutely stupendous. I will rewrite my GonG reviews because some of them are unworthy of these absolutely great group.

You is the obvious one to go for, as it is themost consistent. However, Flying Teapot has some truly great moments, and Angel's Egg is simply jaw-dropping in places - so I voted Angel's Egg.

Another superb GonG album is the one they did with french artist/poet Dashiell Hedayatt. It is called Obsolete, has contributions from William Burroughs and finds Gong in top form. It was released on CD on Mantra label in the early 90's. I have seen the vinyl only three times in my life.

Stupendous!!!!!! Almost better than You or Angel's Egg.

Obsolete is really up there as my top 50. Continental Circus is excellent but something is lacking.....

Angels Egg. Just ahead of 'You' and 'Flying Teapot'. Fantastic albums all.

Angel's egg is the most original of their albums.

I voted Flying Teapot because no one else did. I like their trippy psychedelic phase better than their fusion phase.

Unfair that I can only choose one!

I picked Flying Teapot because it was my first Gong album and one of my first prog albums, and it's still the one I listen to most.

I am

You are

We are

They are

CRAZY!

'Like so many of you
I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'
