Britney Spears new album is to be called " For all you foolish young consumers " and she will go on tour together with King Crimson, as their support act.

The sad thing to me is that all these chanteuses (and the analogous boy bands)get such brobdingnagian amounts of fame, fortune and adulation for being cute and the ability to shake their collective booties while lip syncing at the same time.  While real bands who spend years learning to play their instruments instead of dance, and who can write their own music and interpret that music to an audience, have to at best sign to small labels who themselves have to struggle to make ends meet.

That being said, I seem to be detecting a certain amount of subconscious Carey envy going on in these threads.

There are so many prog artists that we don't speak about...why to pay attention to M.Carey? NONSENSE.

I can't believe that some people think this whole thread is serious  I think you can see in every post that it is ironic...can't you?

Please not...it's funny but I think we should't have too much of this...

Will she be the headliner or King Crimson? Musically Fripp has nothing on Mariah. I think King Crimson would be taking a huge risk at being blown away. We'll  have to bring this to  Bob's attention.

Warning: Some People May Not Share This "Sense of Humour!"

Confused Geez, you dour complainers, if you don't like this topic, start your own Fripp or death metal thread, and don't read or respond to the silly stuff.

Ermm (Seems like the obvious solution to me.)

Stern Smile Some of us (intellectual weaklings, all) actually find humour to be entertaining, valuable and therapeutic!

Geek But back to Progressive Rock, its Significance in the Greater Scheme of Things, creeping entropy, string theory, and the Meaning of Life!

Dr Nerdlinger will start us off: Geek "Progressive Rock is a mirror which reveals the ultimate futility of all human endeavor -- discuss."

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'

Lana is called the"queen of american progressive rock" but I don't see the connection with prog in her music, it's rather heavy-metal with female vocals.

Guys, guys - you've got it all wrong. It's not Mariah, Britney OR Christina A who rules prog - it is, of course, the multi-talented Beyonce Knowles! She can progress my rock any time...
