Anderson lead vocals with Collins on drums (harmony) and Hackett, Banks and Squire
Alternatively Freddie Mercury could take Jon Andersons place if someone could wake him.

>Is this thing made up to create Genesis, Yes, ELP and King Crimson or to combine them
Dude, I was only allowed 25 choices when creating this poll, which means 5 choices per instrument. Who would suggest over Banks (Genesis and solo), Emerson (The Nice, ELP, ELPowell, solo), Jobson (UK, Roxy Music, Tull, etc.), Moraz (Refuge, Yes, Moody Blues, Bruford/Moraz), Wakeman (Yes and solo)?
I think I covered a pretty broad range. And I think your a critic.

Greg Lake
Steve Howe
Keith Emerson
Carl Palmer
Chris Squire
I would have Peter Gabriel as the lyricist but not a great singer compared to Anderson, Lake or Wetton! He can't sustain a note without his voice warbling!

My fave of the above musicians would be the classic Yes line-up: Jon, Steve, Chris, Rick, Alan.
But to create my own supergroup, I'd like to have:
Jon Anderson - vocals
Steve Hillage - guitars
Tony Levin - bass
Geoff Downes - keyboards
Mike Portnoy - drums
I would call them Astral Delight.

Gabriel
Fripp
Squire
Wakeman
Bruford
(as you can see i have a bit of a Yes in my mind, and I didnt choose Jon
Anderson because Gabriel has a more emotional voice)
Tony Levin would be my second front for the Bass seat
And no one dethrones Mr Wakeman

The new Genesis:
John Wetton - Vocals, Bass
Steve Hackett - Vocals, Guitar
Julian Colbeck - Keyboards (in place of Tony)
Manu Katche - Drums (in place of Phil)
They could officially be called Genesis Revamped.

Nice thread! I found it by chance and wanted to have a go, even if the last post is almost a month old. Well, there's my dream team:
Lake (vocals)
Emerson (keys)
Howe (guitar)
Wetton (bass)
Bruford (drums)
They would probably kill each other after a day or two, but who cares? Dreams are still allowed...

I do like the fact that its essentially a Yes/ELP lineup, what does that say?

Funny how the best musicians don't always make the best music.
