Topic: Is Metallica- St Anger the WORST cd ever? Posted: July 08 2005 at 21:38 |
Easy poll this time, since Metallica was once considered Prog, they should be in this part of the world. Vote and post, its easy really... Just two choices.

I thought the song "St . Anger" was incredible and almost seemed a
little proggy; very rough and awesome. I haven't heard the rest of the
album , but I heard clips and it sounds pretty crappy.

No one can say an album is "THE WORST CD EVER", but I'm sure St. Anger is one of the worst out there, and more than an incredibly bad and disastrous CD, this is one of the biggest disappointments in music ever. I voted YES, it deserves it.

It seemed like Metallica was trying to get back at fans for downloading their music.
Either that or Hetfield really has lost the creative gift that went into their classic stuff in the past.

HAHA,
indeed this very morning I was thinking about my metallica collection
and how sad the decline was. I actually used to like Load and
ReLoad, but then one day I just gave up on them. As for St Anger,
I believe I actually thought to myself, word for word, "Worst album
ever"
...although in all honesty, there's got to be something worse. as
long as Ludacris is still rapping, there will be albums worse than St.
Anger.

Worst Metallica CD, YES, definitley. Worst of ALL time? Dont think so..
Virtually ANY Rap (spelt with a silent 'c' my friends) would easily be less listenable for me.

Wow,while I don't think St. Anger is their best album,I like it.After crap like the Black album,Load and Reload I thought it was cool that they went back to a heavier sound. But it's still no Ride the Lightning,Master of Puppets or And Justice for All.

I f**king love it! Maybe I'm the only one, but I always here so much energy and power when I play that album. Definately their worst album, but hey, I like 'em all (Even Load and Reload have high points).

I think that St Anger is a great album, I love it! I prefer it to the "Black" album. I think it was quite a brave album and they got totally bashed for it.

I like St. Anger, although I think that the production is too trashy. Of course the "trashiness" was deliberate, but I think it was just way over the top. Also, the rhythm guitars are terribly out of tune ... every professional guitarist SHOULD know that when downtuning, you have to use stronger strings to maintain the proper tension.

Agreed.
Worst album ever - no way
Worst Metallica album - yes (although ReLoad comes close)
every great band deserves a bad album though.

Not the worst album ever, but it's not a bad contender for it.

I think mettalica is pretty sh*tty. They blow pretty hard to be honest.
The question I have is when was Mettalica considered progressive?
Or more of a question is how were the considred progressive, I mean what dumbass thought that up?

I think it is not even Metallicas worst, as I would go with Load. Definitely not a good album, but not the worst ever thats for sure.
