Mostly Autumn

Hiya to all !
I just recently joined and this is my first post (aww)('') . I'm a 16 yr old girl in love with prog and i especially hold this band Mostly Autumn close to my heart.I have seen this band three times and wow they rock!!! .I am looking forward to chatting and participating. Also i cant stress enough that if anyone has not heard of Mostly Autumn plz plz plz try them. thnx. Mostly Autumn deserve more attention than they get. Their musicianship is outstanding. I would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to this band with amazing female singers ..Heather Findlay: Lead vocals, Acoustic guitar, Bodhran, Tambourines, Penny and Low whistles and Recorders...Bryan Josh: Founder member - Lead electric guitars, acoustic 6 + 12 strings, e bow, vocals...Iain Jennings: Keyboards,Synthesisers, Hammond Organ and vocals...Liam Davison: Electric guitars, 6 + 12 string acoustic guitars and vocals...Angela Goldthorpe: Flute, Low & High whistles, recorders and vocals...Andrew Jennings: Drums...Andy Smith: Bass..now thats the band.Mostly Autumn's music can be described as powerful atmospheric rock with a Celtic edge, influenced by Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Genesis, and reminiscent of 70's Fleetwood Mac and Fairport Convention.Mostly Autumn's sound incorporates the uses of flute, low and penny whistles, violins and vocal harmonies - over all they are powerful band, existing of keyboards, two guitarists, bass and drums. its very very difficult to say which album or songs are best.I have seen this band quite a few times in the past year and had the chance to meet them. They need as much support as they can get ..please try this band. this band need to be heard they deserve a following i'm not being overtly personal about this band seldom has a new band impressed so much i almost grieve that they may vanish unheard which would be really bad.listen to some new music Mostly Autumn are awsome,they need your support to take the next step this band deserve to be heard all over the world.

I have two MA songs on a Cyclops sampler, but every time I try to order a CD, It's either "no longer available" or "Out of stock." I'm trying though. The two tunes I have; "Pieces of Love" and "The Night Sky" are terrific. The guitarist has a serious Gilmour thing going. The woman singer, Heather, has a beautiful voice.

Welcome! The only other female here is Olivia, from France. Her nickname is Tauhd Zaïa. About Mostly Autumn: I haven't heard their music yet, but I'll check it out soon! Have fun!

I will be going to see Mostly Autumn in London and Wolverhampton during the next month.

BTW....before the London Gig, they always have a drink or three in The Royal George pub, just around the corner to The Astoria. They are quite happy chatting to their fans there.

In my recently appointed capacity as an administrator of the site, let me offer an "official" welcome.  As noted by some of our other illustrious members, we are extremely pleased to have a second "woman's voice" on the site: and if you have any like-minded friends, by all means cajole them into visiting and/or joining!  Despite the "testosterone-laced" presence of so many male proggers, I get the sense that few, if any, of us bite (though some of us may nibble...)

Feel free to add your voice, opinions, comments, suggestions, complaints, gripes, and "two cents" on any of the many interesting threads here.

Finally, although lucas is correct that your post should probably have been made on the "featured CD" site, I'm going to let this thread stay here, both because you did not know, and because I think it is a better place from which to introduce yourself.
