Gnidrolog - Lady Lake

never really been comfortable with MMEB's 'Eclectic' tag Confused they are more Crossover? What do others think?

Three Friends over In Spite of Harry's Toenail, Phantasmagoria, Lady Lake and Octopus. I should listen to more Manfred Mann. I have heard Catapilla, but not in many years.

Yes, you should... start with Solar Fire. It'll put some hairs on your chest...

^ Thanks, Solar Fire is the one I have listened to the most, very good album, followed by Nightingales & Bombers. And I have checked out The Roaring Silence before. I should have written that I have not listened to this Manfred Mann's Earth Band album as well as various other MMEB albums.

Octopus > Lady Lake. Comets bring pancreases into the inner solar system periodically.

A clear top three in Three friends, Changes and Lady Lake. But which one? I'll be back.

Three friends.

Schooldays was the first song I've heard from GG and the beginning of my fanaticism for the band that continues to this day.

3 friends is the first GG album I bought, so I vote it.
But of course Octopus is their masterpiece. I also like Geesin, Curved Air and Gnidrolog.

...bloody analitics...

Greg, I'm personally not too fussed about the debut, but everything from Glorified thru Angel Station, peaking in the middle, are a string of very fine and enjoyable albums in my view.

Flash

I prefer the MMEB, Curved Air and Gentle Giant albums that come later in their discography which makes later polls more interesting to me. Flash were a great and largely forgotten band. Perhaps not heavy enough for the hard rock fans and not proggy enough for progressive rock fans, but nevertheless great players and tight as a duck's bottom.
