^You can hear Hiromi by herself on the following albums: "Place to Be" with eight original songs and "Spectrum" with seven original songs.

Hi, I'm not sure that her two solo albums (can't even tell which they are btw) are as good as some of her partnerships ... though I would like to hear her by herself, not doing known pieces, but strictly her own defined material, and likely improvised as she moves along. As he gets older and matures, I think she might do some more things by herself ... and I think these are the things that will make her even more special!

Hi, She is really good on the keys ... although my preference was some earlier stuff, and specially the one with that Harp player which was insane to say the least. There have been some amazing piano excursions that she played, and some of the special pieces with Stanley Clarke, Chick Corea were not exactly as good, and they were more of the "point" than she was, which made her limited and kinda controlled when it came to letting go and free form her way ... in many ways, I really thought that the ego displayed by both was not a good thing, and took away the better part of her own work, which is going free form ... and in many ways, this kinda says a lot about Chick and Stanley, as not exactly being the best solo performers at all ... maybe too mechanical even as jazz players ... however that is not saying that they are not good ... they still belong in the top with the best! But I don't think they will be able to keep Hiromi out of that pantheon. I really think that she makes Keith Jarrett sound repetitive and just mechanical in his own work. And by the time he became worried about the coughs in the audience, I think that his ability had gone down the stream already a while back ... and a sad thing to see, that's for sure. I think all of us want to see folks just plain ... live forever ... and never stop playing ... but we know this is not possible and few folks went into their 80's and 90's and still played their hearts out. I would like to see a solo album by Hiromi ... so she can better establish her own abilities, though I have a feeling that what she does best is work off other players!
