Dear friends of progressive rock music,
I would like to suggest the previously unknown German band ‘Mihrax’ for the Progarchives. They released their second studio album ‘Rox’ on 07.03.2025.

Artist Name: Mihrax
Subgenre: Crossover Prog?
Album: ROX

Audio samples on YouTube:

Biography:
Mihrax was born a few years ago. In mid-2016, Tobias Graef wrote an instrumental solo album called ‘Mihrax’. The album story and the basic musical direction were developed here and pressed onto two CDs using home recording. In the next step, a trio consisting of Tobias Graef (guitar, keyboards), Thomas Graef (bass) and Frank Zibner (drums, vocals) was formed a year later to rewrite and record the album. The album was mixed and produced by Frank Zibner. After the album was completed, Frank left the band, so the line-up carousel turned again - Thorsten Schlüter joined as guitarist at the beginning of 2019 and Andreas Wittwer joined as drummer in autumn. With Boris Elfert on the microphone, the band has been complete again since summer 2022. After a few live performances, the band worked on their second album entitled ‘Rox’ in 2024, which was officially released in March 2025.

Thanks for the well-presented suggestion, Tobias. I listened to the new album 'ROX', and it's definitely something that needs to be on PA. The music in several songs is quite heavy in places, and there are some hints of Neo Prog in others, but on balance Crossover is probably the right sub to start things off in, so your band has been added to the Crossover Team's chart for evaluation.

I haven't listened to the self-titled 2019 album as yet, but will do so tomorrow.

You can follow the evaluation here: https://awesomeprog.com/artists/25658, by clicking on the 'PA' tab.
