Clannad. Prior to the introduction of elaborate synthesisers and pop elements into their repertoire, Clannad's self-titled debut resonates throughout an ethereal grandeur! On the debut, they primarily committed to traditional Irish music, making slight adaptations to modernise it while still honouring its unembellished essence. The album is a stunning collection of traditional Irish-Celtic folk tunes, and, indeed, it is a pleasure to experience the original sound of Clannad, as this music is far more rooted in traditional folk elements compared to some of their subsequent albums. It should be noted that when Clannad's inaugural album was launched in 1973, Irish music had yet to attain the global acclaim it would eventually enjoy, so Clannad would go on to be instrumental in popularising the genre. With just a hint of psychedelic influences sprinkled throughout, it managed to attain a level of mainstream appeal sufficient for Philips to consider its release, despite concerns regarding the commercial prospects of an album entirely performed in Irish.
The radiant hues of the album cover evoke a sunlit reverie, capturing the essence of their ethereal sound and the enchanting beauty of the Irish landscape in summer.
Without a doubt, this record stands as a fascinating artefact from the folk-rock scene of the first half of the 70s.

I have not heard most of these, but I'm voting for the Carmen over Gryphon. For part two, I think I know what album will get my vote. It rhymes with Yells, Shoots and Scrambles.

Usually I would vote for JT's A Passion Play but rarely do I see that Carmen album in polls, hence it gets my vote. With so much stuff floating around in space, it's a wonder the bag wasn't invented shortly after the big bang.

Carmen – Fandangos in Space. The run in Swamp Thing's pantyhose is because he bought it from Temu, not an aftereffect of global warming.
