It's good to know I'm not the only one here who loves Disco. I was half-expecting to be as isolated as Matt Damon on Mars with a Disco blog on a Prog-Rock website, speaking of which, Matt Damon likes some Hot Stuff too, when he's not watching his potatoes grow. Tongue

Just think how much better JAWS would've been with the soundtrack to The Deep! A 1977 non-album Summer song for you to boogie on down deep to with Jacqueline Bisset. Smile

Endless Summer 5

I Remember Yesterday being confused and perplexed by Donna Summer's change of image on her fifth album, but it turned out to be her best-selling album so far, featuring the monster hits Love's Unkind and I Feel Love and also recorded at the same time (but not appearing on the album) the theme to the undersea  monster movie: The Deep.

Could It Be Magic? Yes it can, especially when Donna sings, but too bad if you prefer Barry Manilow's version. Tongue

Endless Summer 2  Heart

Following hard on the heels of the limited success of Donna Summer's debut album comes Love to Love You Baby, her big breakthrough album which came complete with sexually explicit lyrics and erotically-charged moans and groans that were heard all around the world. Inevitably, Love to Love You Baby was banned by many radio stations, but controversy is good for business and the single soared up the charts. A full-length 17-minute version of Love to Love You Baby appeared on the album, in addition to the single becoming one of the first disco records to be released as an extended 12-incher. I'll spare you the dreadful remixed version though. Tongue

4 stars 1974: Donna Summer - Lady of the Night - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nvmtvLMuqwd95plXGhzSqEZ-MIAU-hz5M

The first album from the First Lady of Love, conceived, written and produced by Pete Bellotte & Giorgio Moroder. The two singles from the album: "Lady of the Night" and "The Hostage" failed to chart in Britain, but they were big in Belgium, apparently, so maybe the Belgians know a thing or two about music, besides making exceedingly good chocolates. Smile

Never loved disco of any kind. I can listen to some funky-disco when the bass is well played, but with all the good prog around, why wasting my time on a genre that does nothing for me.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

^ I was all poised to post another video of the lovely Shiela, but alas, no, I still can't seem to manage to post a link for some strange reason.

I'm happy that I can still post pics though! Tongue
