I did a poll series of 2024 to 2005 with three sections in most of those that included eight from the top PA chart, eight from the PA Album of the Year events, eight personal favourites and an "other" to be used if none are appreciated (or are hardly appreciated) in the poll. I'm sort of continuing down the years from that, but only choosing personal favourites. And while I would have loved to list more for each year, I decided to limit it to five per year so that I can more easily cover a wide range of years over shorter time (I am not very patient). We have a maximum of 25 poll spaces available, and so five by five works well.

Multiple votes enabled: Please vote for up to five of these -- or more if you want; I'm just giving people some structure -- and mention those in a post and those don't have to be one per year, but five of the 25 regardless of year.

I'm fine with people mentioning their favourites from the year without knowing and liking any of the options, but please let me know if you only mention others your status when it comes to knowing and liking ones in the poll. That context helps me to "get" better where people are coming from, and that under standing means lot to me and I am a detail-oriented person. Also, I will let people know that I do love sentences (should be name for this psychological condition) so sharing at least a few words to go along with your choice or choices is really appreciated. It gives me something more to connect with if anyone gets where I'm coming from. It makes it feel more interactive and personal. But people should do what they are comfortable with.

2004:

1. Air - Talkie Walkie (not in PA)
2. Ghost - Hypnotic Underworld
3. Guapo - Five Suns
4. Secret Chiefs 3 - Book of Horizons
5. Shibusashirazu - Shibuboshi

2003:

1. Broadcast - Haha Sound (not in PA)
2. Sufjan Stevens - Michigan
3. Rachel's - Systems/Layers
4. Pram - Dark Island
5. Woven Hand - Blush Music

2002:

1. Boards of Canada - Geogaddi (not in PA)
2. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Yanqui U.X.O.
3. Sigur Rós - ( )
4. Bohren & der Club of Gore - Black Earth
5. Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man - Out of Season (not in PA)

2001:

1. Air - 10 000 Hz Legend (not in PA)
2. Radiohead - Amnesiac
3. Stereolab - Sound-Dust
4. Aphex Twin - Drukqs (not in PA)
5. Sufjan Stevens - Enjoy Your Rabbit (not in PA)

2000:

1. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
2. Radiohead - Kid A
3. Broadcast - The Noise Made by People (not in PA)
4. Juana Molina - Segundo (not in PA)
5. Bohren & der Club of Gore - Sunset Mission

I would love to hear about what people like on the list, if any, and faves of yours that are not on the list. And if you dislike any of these, happy-enough to hear about that too. To each their own tastes. Thanks.

Guapo's Five Suns is my favorite among these, though many I'm not familiar with. The aphids are blowing bubbles at me.

For sure there are more than five vote-worthy ones here. Let's start from the top:
Gold medal: The Noise Made By People
Silver medal: Kid A
Bronze medal: Here it becomes really hard. I think I now start to given votes to things that I'd love to see with a vote even if there's some stuff that I just like as much.
The ones that I suspect need me to get a vote are:
Black Earth - Drukqs - and, hmmm, Enjoy Your Rabbit? (I may prefer Michigan, but I think somebody else will vote that.)

No dearth of albums to vote for

I went with Five Suns, Shibuboshi (learned of this from one of Greg's polls/playlists), (), Lift Your Skinny Fists..., and Kid A.

Charli XCX name-dropped both Aphex Twin and Autechre at the Brit Awards last week.  Respect.
Good to see Broadcast in there - ever since I heard 'Echo's Answer' I thought 'prog'!
