I voted for Rush's Hemispheres in presdoug's recent 1978 list and posted these 26 albums there as an addition for comparison to his list (I knew very little of his choices) but then opted to just make this its own poll. Nonce of those in his list are in my list. See his topic here: Progressive Rock Album List-1978

Once again, multiple choice is enabled. Please try to vote for and mention three albums if you can from the list in your post. If you go under or over, that's fine too. It's a suggestion not a dictum, and it should not need to be said, but only one vote per album (that is a dictum). Feel free to mention as many others as you like from 1978 and if none are liked in the list, please state that instead of just listing an other choice. And put out ones you think may be omissions from my list or errors. Sometimes I forget ones and sometimes the year is wrong. I took this list from what I prepared at AwesomeProg (a longer list) and the years are not always correct.

1. Bubu - Anabelas
2. Cos - Babel
3. Kraftwerk - Die Mensch·Maschine
4. Magma - Attahk
5. Andre Fertier's Clivage - Mixtus Orbis
6. National Health - National Health
7. Nina Hagen Band - Nina Hagen Band (not in PA)
8. Kate Bush - The Kick Inside
9. Giorgio Moroder - Midnight Express (not in PA)
10. Haruomi Hosono & Tadanori Yokoo - Cochin Moon
11. OSE - Adonia
12. Jean Michel Jarre - Équinoxe
13. Weidorje - Weidorje
14. Tangerine Dream - Cyclone
15. The Residents - Not Available
16. Klaus Schulze - X
17. Robbie Basho - Visions of the Country (not in PA)
18. National Health - Of Queues and Cures
19. The Residents - Duck Stab / Buster & Glen
20. Siouxsie and The Banshees - The Scream (not in PA)
21. Michael Hoenig - Departure From the Northern Wasteland
22. The Muffins - Manna/Mirage
23. Sun Ra - Lanquidity (not in PA)
24. Kate Bush - Lionheart
25. Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance (not in PA) OR Arachnoid - Arachnoïd

I hope this "Prog plus" poll can be considered like a complementary addition to Doug's 1978 progressive rock poll, which has totally different album choices.

Nina Hagen Band without hesitation: one of the most important, perspective-expanding albums of my life.

^ Thanks guys. And the Nina Hagen is indeed an awesome album. I adore "Naturtrane". It gives me serious Focus' Hamburger COncerto meets GIorgio Moroder's Cat People (Leopard Tree Dream) vibes.

By the way, here is presdoug's list from his recent poll for ease of reference as I intended this to be complementary to his altogether different list (Hemispheres is in my longer Awesome Prog list, but none of the others from this list, and I'm something of a maximalist so a much longer list from me... I would have liked longer):

Giger Lenz Marron - Where The Hammer Hangs
Genesis - And Then There Were Three
PFM - Passpartu
Gunter Fischer Quintet - Combination
Rush - Hemispheres
Budgie - Impeckable
Wishbone Ash - No Smoke Without Fire
John Mclaughlin - Electric Guitarist
Passport - Sky Blue (Ataraxia)

Anyone who lived through 1978 knows they had those National Health albums to cling to while prog was dying around them.  Both Henry Cow and ELP (for the first time) called it a day that year.  Apart from National Health good albums from Hackett and Hillage also came out along with the second album from Gilgamesh.

Btw: I actually prefer the english version of Kraftwerk's albums. It adds warmth and charm somehow.

National Health, Mensch Maschine. Then both Kate Bush albums and Anabelas at about the same level. Will click the one of these that has the fewest votes. Also love Cyclone.

Bubu, Magma, and National Health's s/t. My exoskeleton is made out of mustard and Reynolds numbers.

Nina Hagen, Tangerine Dream and Bubu. Quite a few good albums in this selection.

My top three:
1. Rush - Hemispheres
2. Indexi - Modra Rijeka
3. Anthony Phillips - Wise after the Event.
