A new installment in my recent series of Polls, this dealing with my personal faves from 1972. As you may guess, my vote for my favourite choice goes to Triumvirat's "Mediterranean Tales". Have a look and tell me your favourite.

You're on a roll, another nice poll. I'm voting for BdSM's Darwin! over Dzyan. I also have enjoyed Yes Fragile (my favourite album when I was 17), Brainstorm's Smile Awhile, Wishbone' Ashe's Argus, Passport's and Nektar's albums as well as the sturdy Thick as a Brick.
By the way, this site is running slow as molasses for me right now. |

Yes, it's been like treading through treacle today waiting for a page to load, but at least I've only been blocked three times so far today.

Several personal favorites on this list make for tough voting! Went with Fragile though now I wish I'd shown some love for Second Passport or A Tab in the Ocean.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Yes's Fragile was released in the UK on November 12, 1971. In the U.S. release date was January 4, 1972.
Go with US release date for this poll, and it's Fragile for me. Not far behind is Trilogy from ELP and TAAB by Jethro Tull. All great albums. Not on your list is Close to the Edge, my all-time favorite in any genre. Gentle Giant's Three Friends, my favorite GG album and Octopus, another classic from Gentle Giant. Foxtrot from Genesis is obviously legendary in the Prog world that would be on my list. Miles Davis's, On the Corner from the Fusion category and Steely Dan's debut, Can't Buy a Thrill and Chicago V from the Jazz Rock category are albums I think quite highly of that would be in my list of top releases from 1972. I'm always confused about when Fragile was released! The Yes Album is 71 and Close To The Edge 72. I know that but what is the releasing 2 albums in a year malarky all about

The baffling absence of CTTE aside, my vote goes for the prog masterpiece that is TAAB. [And has been observed Fragile was released at the back end of 1971.]

Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?

Thick as a Brick. I'd do anything for a bag of random photos of lawn chairs.
