We were in the middle of a wonderful French series called "The Bureau," a spy thriller, but unfortunately our streaming pulled it for some contractual reason and now we can't finish it.

^ funnily enough I mentioned that on the previous page. You may want to check out The Agency in that case. Also Paramount+ seem to be carryng all 5 seasons of the French original version.

Googled:

Yes, The Agency is an American remake of the French spy series Le Bureau des Légendes, also known as The Bureau.
Details:
  • The Agency premiered on Paramount+ on November 29, 2024.
  • The show stars Michael Fassbender as a CIA operative who is pulled out of an undercover assignment.
  • The show was adapted by the Butterworth brothers and produced by George Clooney.
  • The first two episodes were directed by Joe Wright.
  • The show also stars Jodie Turner-Smith, Jeffrey Wright, Katherine Waterston, and Hugh Bonneville.
Comparisons:
  • The show closely follows the original French scripts in its first two episodes.
  • Some say the show is a stellar English-language take on the French series.
  • Others say the show lacks the je ne sais quoi of the French original.
Additional information:
  • The show was originally titled The Department.
  • It was renewed for a second season.

Thanks Richard. I think we're too invested to switch to an American remake, and we currently don't have Paramount plus. But we switch services every so often, so that's great to know. The cast in the Bureau is really excellent.
