RIP Marianne.

I saw her live at the Tyne theatre Opera House in Newcastle many years ago. Very sad news. Unhappy

I can well recommend Marianne's film 'The Girl on a Motorcycle' - well worth a watch if you can find it.

Is there a RIP thread for PA members, reviewers, admins?

I've been really enjoying reading Rollie Anderson (Chicapah)'s old reviews and was hoping to reach out to him and contact (if he's still alive). Anybody have any knowledge of his whereabouts?

There was a thread created a while ago.  Not much news on it though.

Great point you raise, Drew. I think about that sometimes too.

Truly sad... he hadn't been too active in musical circles for a long while but the Soft Machine albums made under his leadership remain among the most fascinating and visionary opuses of the time

I did some investigative work, and I'm happy to report that Rollie/Chicapah is still alive and well and living in Texas. He appears to be concentrating on his faith-based writing perhaps. You can try reaching him here at his Blog. Thumbs Up

Ok, not someone famous but I found out last night that my uncle Bob passed away. He and my aunt were in a bad car accident about a week ago (along with my niece) and wound up in the hospital with broken ribs and broken sternums. My aunt recovered but my uncle didn't make it. He was a big fan of Pink Floyd and also the Alan Parsons Project (but that's about it as far as prog or rock goes). He was 95. RIP uncle Bob.

Wow, 95 and a rock fan....that's cool.

I'm really sorry to hear that man. My condolences.

Thanks. Well, for the past two years or so he was pretty much out of it. He didn't talk much and just kept mostly to himself. Even without the accident it's unlikely he would have lived more than another year or two at the most. I don't think he listened to much music in a while. I did see the Alan Parsons Project5 with him (his second favorite and only other favorite band) back around 2010 or so.
