Holdsworth of course. Superb bassist Jimmy Johnson joined the group and plays on all but one song. His bass solo on "Panic Station" is the best ever recorded. Very melodic and tasteful.
Gary Willis (bass) and Gary Husband (drums) appear on the longest track "The Un-Merry-Go Round" a song Allan wrote for his dad. Metal Fatigue is one of the best fusion albums ever recorded. Edited by Grumpyprogfan - January 30 2025 at 06:25 |

Metal Fatigue.
"Devil Take The Hindmost" has possibly the best guitar solo I've ever heard in my life. |

Fourth over Metal Fatigue. If it was Fifth versus Metal Fatigue, it would be a harder choice.
I will always remember getting that Metal Fatigue album so long after I ordered it that I forgot about it. I originally was going into HMV with a list and annoying the sales person who would go their computer and see if they could order these cds for me. They kept suggesting it might be better for me to buy from an on-line distributer which I eventually did. So it was curious to get a call from them 2 years after I had quit using them saying a cd was in. What cd? Metal Fatigue! The Un-Merry-Go-Round" is simply awesome. Gary Husband on drums is incredible. This is the only track Gary is on as Chad Wackerman does the rest except for the lame drum machine on the final track. |
