Here we are with the first knockout stage of our XXI c. symphonic prog competition, swinging through all twenty-five years of this millennium, we have 49 albums making the cut and advancing to the next stages! As you know, it's all in the spirit of a game so it had been decided that 5 votes is the minimum bar an album needs to progress to the next stage. Below are the results as of Feb 01, 2025, consolidated and calculated so no other votes in any of the previous polls will count. The albums collecting the most votes (that would be 18-11 in our results) will automatically advance to the "final" of our competition and won't participate in any of the knockout stages. They are highlighted in green in the table below. Today, we will take a look at the albums in the lowest "tier", or the ones having collected five votes. We have fourteen entries so here's the gag: The top three albums, having collected the most votes, will advance to the final stage and will join the abovementioned albums. The next three albums will advance to the next knockout stage and will join the 6-voters. So in total 6 out of the 14 albums will advance in one way or another. So as usual - cast your votes and let us know who you voted for! Enjoy and prog on! *Let's put 48 hours as the conventional time for votes accumulation. Might be adjusted based on the results of this first knockout stage poll. 1. 18 votes: Transatlantic - Bridge Across Forever (2001) 2. 12 votes: Spock's Beard - V (2000) 3-5. 11 votes: Transatlantic - SMPT:e (2000)/ 6-11. 10 votes: Yes - Magnification (2001)/Echolyn - Mei (2002)/ 12-17. 9 votes: Discipline - To Shatter All Accord (2011)/Echolyn - S/T (2012)/Transatlantic - Kaleidoscope (2014)/Wobbler - Dwellers of the Deep (2020)/ 18-24. 8 votes: Neal Morse - One
(2004)/ 25-29. 7 votes: The Flower Kings - Unfold the Future (2002)/Neal Morse - ? [Question Mark] (2005)/ 30-35. 6 votes: White Willow - Storm Season (2004)/Spock's Beard - S/T (2006)/The
Tangent - Not as Good as the Book (2008) 36-49. 5 votes: La Maschera di Cera - S/T (2002)/Rick Wakeman - Out There (2003)/La Maschera di Cera - Il Grande Labirinto (2003)//Southern Empire - Civilisation (2018)/Rick Wakeman - The Red Planet (2020)/Big Big Train - Welcome to the Planet (2022)/Izz - Collapse the Wave (2024)
