A friend gifted me Rick Astley's "Whenever You Need Somebody" as a joke gift. It's a type a great record. I'll probably end up getting a copy of Red's 50th anniversary edition eventually. Great album.

I just saw the notice about 50th Red anniversary notice.....We will see, I have the 2013 reissue cut from original masters approved by Fripp (not sure that means much LOL). Sounds pretty good so I may just pass on the 50th.

Got the recent Tool album for a great price, still sealed. This is the 3-LP version, not the original 5-LP 1-sided version set.

Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (Chrysalis, 1982 US)

Good, that's almost 400g plastic less. Thumbs Up

Last vinyl I purchased was the reissue of Aphrodite's Child - 666. In general vinyl has become far too expensive so I don't expect to get much this year in that format. Maybe IQ's latest and I really should own some Genesis vinyl, apparently the half speed mastered version of Nursery Crime is da bomb.

I buy a lot from Ken, his prices are very reasonable.....The new SW release was only $30 from him, of course add in all the shipping charges, tax and it becomes a $45 buy but the record price itself was more than reasonable.

I agree prices have gotten a bit much. I have about 900 records, I have more but not what I call "what I listen to". Even then about 700 is my number........Regardless, my point is for me I am being very selective in what I have been buying the past 2-3 years.
I bought the Analogue Productions 75th of SEBTP, unfortunately my copy is not what everyone else is drooling about. That issue had some issues, and I think I got a bad one that Chris Bellman cut, my 2008 Nick Davis version is better to my ears. I do enjoy the AP version but its just ok, it still is a wonderful listen.

I bought the Yes~Fragile AP 75th and that one is spectacular!!! I also still have my OG '72 US issue that is cut by George Piros PORKY press and is a -AAA/-AAA and is amazing, the new one cut by Kevin Gray is outstanding and IMO well worth the $60.00, just remember these are cut at 45RPM to increase the sound quality. Unfortunately the CTTE version is also 45RPM but I won't get it as CTTE should not be cut into 2 parts....Blasphemy LOL.

What I will not buy are the MoFi issues since now we all know those are cut from a digital file, albeit a DSD file copy of the master tapes but I'm not paying $150.00 for those when the AP ones are all cut from the original master tapes or best source tapes so they are all AAA.

I have read that Nursery Cryme is the cats meow! I have an OG UK Charisma and the Nick Davis 2009 reissue so I'm all set....

The best value for records continues to be the current BlueNote releases (If you are into jazz and specifically hard bop era), on sale they can go for $20 which is crazy good for an all analog record cut from the original Rudy Van Gelder session tapes, they all sound amazing.
