I am looking for the lyrics of "Uuteen Aikaan" by Scapa Flow (1980). The original in finnish, not translated.

If I can get them fully digitally or possible to transform by using OCR that would be very neat.

Otherwise a picture of an album sleeve would be just great!

I tried to search the web to buy the CD or vinyl but no luck yet.

Sold out or collectors expensive when it comes to vinyl.

And also - I do not even know if the lyrics are on the sleeve... EDIT: Now i now, check the link below

PS There is another later band called Scapa Flow too, a Swedish EBM band. Spotify has merged together as one... Disapprove But here is the link to the album:

Here is a picture of the album :-)

I have the LP's reissue with lyrics sheet, so here you are.
These lyrics paint a post-apocalyptic vision of a dead city.

Oven avaan, ootan hetkisen
Talossa tyhjyys enää asuu
Tuuli ulos pyrkii
Kaikki muut jo lähteneet on

Nousen portaat omaan huoneeseen
Sanomalehti ajansyömä
Lattialta huutaa:
IHMINEN ATOMIAIKAAN!

Kaupunki kuollut
On jo jäähtynyt
Näkymätön pöly
Kaduille jää

Enkä muista
Kauan siitä mennyt on
Siihen asti kaikki hyvin sujui

Leimahdus suunnaton
Meidät uuteen aikaan vei
Siitä lehdet vaan ei
Ehtineet kirjoittaa

Puistoissa lyhdyt
Ennen loistivat
Nyt säteilee kaupunki
Enää kuolemaa.

Oh BIG THANKS & KIITOS to you Matti! Big smile

Apperantely I did not activate this account fully - I did not get any notification on answers.

Also I actually ordered the CD (and some other CD's from Levykauppa Äx a couple of days later, December 7th and it arrived last week Smile

So then in December I thought I had the problem solved. The text would be in the booklet with CD.

Well Ermm I forgot that when it comes to old LP converted to CD that is not always done. Off course. It is a cost.

So now I am back to square one.

I was a bit unclear in this post I realize now but I would like the lyrics to all of the songs on the album "Uuteen Aikaan" not only the titel song "Uuteen Aikaan".

But I am very happy for that song!

Did you type it by hand...?

Would it be possible to get a photo of the lyrics sheet?

It would be good for me to train finnish by transfering it from photo to text Thumbs Up

I just translated it. Oh dear. This reminds me...

I try to learn by heart some chosen song in languages I want to learn more about or learn.

So in the 90ies I learnt an Icelandci song by heart, a blues song. Icelandic is a good blues language. This was like before the internet so I hade really no idea of what I was singing. Well. It was a song banned on the radio my Icelandic friend told me...

Laugardagsmorgunn
by Bubbi

Það er æla inni á baðinu
brotinn stóll í stofunni
blóðblettir á gólfinu.
Og í rúminu hjá vofunni
flöskur liggja á borðinu
bærir á sér frík.
Brotnir draumar í úthverfi
að morgni í Reykjavík.

Dregið fyrir gluggann
grafarþögn inni
geðveiki í loftinu.
Dópað burt allt minni
ormagryfja í höfðinu
höndin upp á brík.
Horfnir draumar í úthverfi
að morgni í Reykjavík.

Það var rifrildi um nóttina
nakin blæddu orðin
næstum því allur
búinn pilluforðinn.
Tómleg augu stara
stirðnað liggur lík.
Straumar haturs í úthverfi
að morgni í Reykjavík.

Æla inni á baðinu
brotinn stóll í stofunni
blóðblettir á gólfinu.
Og í rúminu hjá vofunni
flöskur liggja á borðinu
bærir á sér frík.
Brotnir draumar í úthverfi
að morgni í Reykjavík.

* * *
There is vomit in the bathroom
broken chair in the living room
blood stains on the floor.
And in the bed by the ghost
bottles lie on the table
bear a freak.
Broken dreams in the suburbs
in the morning in Reykjavík.

The window is closed
grave silence inside
insanity in the air.
Drugged away everything smaller
a pit of worms in the head
hand up on a broom.
Gone dreams in the suburbs
in the morning in Reykjavík.

There was an argument that night
naked the words bled
almost because the pill supply was all used up.
Empty eyes stare
a stiff body lies.
Streams of hatred in the suburbs
in the morning in Reykjavík.

Vomit in the bathroom
broken chair in the living room
blood stains on the floor.
And in the bed by the ghost
bottles lie on the table
bear a freak.
Broken dreams in a suburban morning in Reykjavík.

I see that now indeed.

Though the song it self was quite light and gracious.

The only words I recognized in finnish where like "city" and "sun" so a bit hard to get the whole picture...
