^ The 1999 party tour of North America where Man supported Hawkwind in 1974 definitely made a few circuits of the cosmos! Nektar are kinda the same.. its all cool stuff
Keep up the good work; your industry is constant source of amazement and wonderment! Seasons greetings and felicitations to you and yours dude
Thanks! Best wishes to you too and I'm glad you mentioned Nektar because they're coming up shortly in tomorrow's list.
ASHRA Ashra are red-shifted more towards the Progressive Electronic end of the light spectrum rather than Space Rock, but Ashra are included here in the spacetime continuum on account of them being a continuation of Krautrock legends Ash Ra Tempel, Ashra being the one-man project of none other than Manuel Goettsching and his spiralling, out-of-this-world cosmic vibrations.
ASTEROID #4 Described as a Shoegaze band in some remote regions of the prog universe, although Asteroid #4 are really a Space Rock band to the rest of us earth-dwelling humanoids. After all, why would they waste time gazing at their shoes when they could be out there stargazing with dreams of reaching for the stars!? Ad Astra!
ASTRA A modern San Diego-based band with music firmly rooted in the classic 1970's era and described as a cross between Hawkwind and Pink Floyd. Astra's marvellous psychedelic debut "The Weirding" was rumoured to be a potential soundtrack to the sci-movie Cocoon. Now that's weird!

^ Top notch first CD not Spacey imo
Some artists are just too good to ignore, even though Astra aren't technically Space Rock, despite their name. They are listed on PA under Psychedelic/Space Rock though, so that's good enough for me. One artist I did draw the line at NOT including though is Phrozenlight, and if you see his seemingly endless list of albums, you'll know why. He makes Rick Wakeman's discography look positively spartan by comparison.

A-Z of Space Rock
ASTRAL SON A Dutch astral traveller who almost got away, but better late than never, eh. Astral Son is the alter ego of guitarist Leonardo Soundweaver, although it doesn't take an astrologer to know that that may not be his real name. Ad Astra!
ATOMA Are you an astronaut looking for adventure? Then strap yourselves in and open up the Skylight and let the sunshine in for an atmospheric journey to the ends of the universe in this apocalyptic adventure of a lifetime - complete with death growls! It can only be the sound of AtomA - a unique Swedish Space Rock trio who are heavier than liquid metallic hydrogen. They're atomic!
