Here's the bio Last Plane Out sent out for the most recent release,
the single "All Fools' Day, which was released September 6. The single
followed our self-titled debut album, which was released by S-Rock
(international distribution by Border) on vinyl and streaming in the
spring of 2024. The bio below contains info about the album as well.
Biography:

Nils Erikson, based in Malmö, Sweden, is a Swedish singer, composer
and multi- instrumentalist. He has released a number of solo albums,
one of which was nominated for two Swedish Grammys (Newcomer of the
Year and Male Artist of the Year). He has also released several
instrumental works that have been streamed millions of times.
In addition to that, Nils spent many years as the pianist and co-lead
singer of the progressive rock band Karmakanic, led by longtime Steve
Hackett bassist, Jonas Reingold, and also sang with Jupiter Society.

Anders Lundquist, based in Stockholm, Sweden, is a lyricist, composer
and bassist/guitarist, as well as a renowned music journalist. As the
bassist and one of the two main songwriters of Swedish hard rock/prog
band, Future Elephants?, he released three acclaimed albums between
2016 and 2023.

Background:

Anders first met Nils in the nineties, when the latter's then record
label, Sony Music, hired Anders to write a brief biography about Nils.
”I was immediately impressed by Nils' talent. His vocals really moved
me, his musicality was obvious, and his production values are on par
with giants like Daniel Lanois, Alan Parsons, and Steve Lillywhite.
Some interesting conversations about music, relationships, and life in
general followed. I really felt that we were kindred spirits”, says
Anders.

When Nils learned that Anders was not only a writer and a musician,
but also an accomplished lyricist, they started to collaborate on
songs. Nils wrote the music. Anders provided the lyrics.
”I've always been slow at writing lyrics”, says Nils. ”I usually write
the music first, sometimes with a working title or some keyword, while
the rest is pure nonsense. Using that as a starting point, Anders
creates a complete lyric that fits both the music and my way of
singing perfectly. It's magical! Anders has an incredible way of
writing lyrics that I can get behind 100 percent. It's like having a
shortcut to my own heart”.

The band name:

The duo's name was taken from a song title by the band Toy Matinee,
whose frontman was singer/multi-instrumentalist Kevin Gilbert sadly
passed away in 1996, aged only 29.
Nils Erikson and Kevin Gilbert met in 1988, when their respective
bands reached the finals of the international Yamaha Soundcheck
competition, which took place in Tokyo. ”Both Kevin and I felt a bit
under the weather and tended to withdraw from the general hoopla
together".
The two frontmen soon noted some obvious similarities between their
respective bands, Giraffe (Kevin) and Under The Sun (Nils).
”Unfortunately we lost touch. I was sad to hear that he had passed”.
Last Plane Out can be seen as a tribute to Kevin Gilbert, as well as a
clue to what the music sounds like: ”prog pop” in the style of David
Bowie, David Sylvian, Elbow, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Kevin Gilbert
and The Blue Nile.

Who plays on the album?

Nils Erikson plays and sings everything on the album, which the
exception of two tracks, the debut single ”Making Her Smile”, and
third single, ”Nobody Else No”, which was released in April.
”Making Her Smile, was released in February 2024, and features Jonas
Reingold (Steve Hackett Band, Karmakanic, ex-The Flower Kings) on
guitar and bass.

The second single, ”Stirring Up The Ghosts” was released March 22.

The third single, ”Nobody Else, No”, released late April, was a duet
between Nils and Aida Jabbari, a gifted Swedish singer and songwriter
with Iranian roots.

Musical influences:

Nils Erikson: There are so many ... I grew up listening to The
Beatles, Jethro Tull and ELO. Then Bowie, U2, Simple Minds and Peter
Gabriel entered the picture. To be honest, I find inspiration in all
sorts of likely and unlikely places.

Anders Lundquist: The Beatles, David Bowie, Genesis/Peter Gabriel,
Kevin Gilbert, Paul Simon, Paddy McAloon, Joe Jackson, Joni Mitchell,
Steely Dan, Rickie Lee Jones, Todd Rundgren, Ian Hunter, to name a few
... I love the synergy effect that can occur when great music is
complemented by fitting lyrics.

The future:

LPO are currently working on their second album, which will be out in
February 2025. Around then, Nils and Anders will also put together a
live band. It will feature Nils on vocals and keyboards, while Anders
will be switching between bass and guitar.

^ Thanks for adding some biographical info to your post, Mayer. I did think that the original post was all we were going to get, so I spent the last couple of hours putting a biography of my own together to ensure that my team's boss would be willing to take the suggestion forward.

I'll just add here that although this is a really lovely album, it doesn't exactly scream 'prog' at you - being referred to as 'progressive pop' by a good many folk who've heard it - so there's no guarantee that it'll get this duo a place on PA. I'm going to vote 'yes' myself (a fairly weak 'yes', mind you), but whether my team mates will also vote 'yes', I'm not so sure.

Anyway, here's the background info that I compiled myself from various sources (checked to be plagiarism free):

Last Plane Out is a Swedish duo consisting of Nils Erikson who is based in Malmö, and Anders Lundquist of Stockholm. Nils formerly had a lengthy spell as the pianist and co-lead singer of the Swedish prog band Karmakanic, and Anders was formerly the bass player and composer/lyricist of the Stockholm-based seventies style hard/classic rock band 'Future Elephants?', but he abandoned his former career to become a music journalist.

In 1996, Nils Erikson released his debut solo album 'Spår', which was nominated as a candidate for the Swedish 'Grammis' award for 'New Artist of the Year', and music journalist, musician and lyricist Anders Lundquist was hired to write the biography which was needed to accompany the release. When Nils found out that Anders was not only a writer and a musician but also an accomplished lyricist, the pair started to collaborate on some songs, with Nils writing the music and Anders providing the lyrics.

However, their self-titled debut album took a long time to complete, with Erikson working on the music at his home studio in a converted stable, and Lundquist writing the lyrics in places as diverse as Paris, New York, and even a bench in London's Hyde Park while travelling around the world interviewing other musicians.

The finished album has been dedicated to the memory of Kevin Gilbert, the former frontman of the short-lived US rock band 'Toy Matinee', which released just one self-titled album in 1990. Gilbert died in 1996 aged 29, and the name that the duo have chosen for their project echoes the title of Toy Matinee's biggest song.

Nils Erikson actually got to know Kevin Gilbert in 1988 when both the bands they belonged to were taking part in an international competition in Tokyo. Erikson was suffering a bout of appendicitis at the time and Kevin was also feeling under the weather, so while most of the members of the other competing acts were out and about cosying up to the judging panel, he and Kevin just hung out together on the tour bus.

The opening track of the album, 'Making Her Smile', features Jonas Reingold of 'Karmakanic' and the 'Steve Hackett Band' guesting on lead guitar and bass, but Erikson plays everything else on the album. The only other guest featured on the album is Swedish-Iranian singer Aida Jabbari, who duets with Nils Erikson on track three 'Nobody Else, No'. The album was released via the Rimbo-based Swedish record label S-Rock Music Production digitally on April 26 2024, and as a Vinyl LP on May 31 of that year.

The album was nominated as a candidate in the 'Studio Album of the Year' category of a new Swedish music award called Rocknyttpriset, which has been set up to protect and promote Swedish rock and hard rock, and the song 'Strange Love' was nominated in the 'Song of the Year' category. 'Last Plane Out' was also a 'Limelight' feature in the July 2024 issue (151) of the UK's glossy 'Prog' magazine.

The opening track 'Making Her Smile' was released as the first single from the album in February 2024, with track 7, 'Stirring Up The Ghosts' following it in March. Track 3, 'Nobody Else, No' then became the album's third single in late April 2024. A further single, not actually part of the album, called 'All Fools' Day', was released on September 6 2024.

The album's closing track 'Leave A Light On' is dedicated to late sisters Josefin Nilsson and Marie Nilsson-Lind of the Gotland-based Swedish pop/folk vocal group 'Ainbusk', who, with Erikson and Lundquist's permission, had previously recorded their own version of the song. Josefin sadly died back in 2016, followed by her sister Marie in early January 2024.

Last Plane Out are currently working on a follow-up album which is due for release in February 2025, with the intention of the duo subsequently putting together a live band with Nils Erikson handling vocals and keyboards, and Anders Lundquist switching between guitar and bass.
