These are tracks that I have tried to include generally on the shorter side off various albums I like.
Here is a playlist for familiarising oneself with any of this. Feel free to vote on what you know, based on 3O seconds listening to each track.... I would expect that Can to get the most votes, but it's not a contest. NEU! "Isi" (NEU! '75, 1975) Brainticket "Feel the Wind Blow" (Psychonaut, 1972) Cluster "Hollywood" (Zuckerzeit, 1974) Agitation Free "Malesch" (Malesch, 1972) Amon Düül II "Kanaan" (Phallus Dei, 1969) A.R. & Machines "Globus" (Die grüne Reise, 1971) Can "Vitamin C" (Ege Bamyası, 1972) Faust "Picnic On A Frozen River, Deuxieme Tableux" (Faust IV, 1973) Brave New World "Lenina" (Impressions on Reading Aldous Huxley, 1972) La Düsseldorf "Silver Cloud" (La Düsseldorf, 1976) |

Nothing but standouts here. Love them all is all I'm gonna say ...well except that I also enjoyed Silver Cloud by La Düsseldorf - which was the only track I didn't have any recollection of. I originally found them a little too lightweight, but maybe I don't mind simple humalong melodies so much anymore. I also remember that their punkish tunes were instantly off-putting to me, but I've gotten used too Neu! and Harmonia in more of a punk-mode since then. I should probably give them another chance.

Silver Cloud is one that grew on me, and humalong melodies have become more my thing over time. While obviously I could vote for any number of these, as I went out earlier for a little walk and was thinking how cold it has got, there is plenty of frost and snow to come quite soon, I'm feeling like a Picnic on a Frozen River. Any choice would be quite arbitrary for me. Had it been windy I probably would have gone with Brainticket, and on a brand neu! day Isi etc. |

After I said that I expected can to get the most votes, I then realised, well, that Agitation Free is popular and superb. By the way, Agitation Free's Malesch is the first Krautrock album I fell for. An album I very often mention in polls that I decided not to list any thing off this time is Dom's Edge of Time. That and Brave New World's ("The End" is fantastic!) probably are my most listened to Krautrock albums in my collection. I wanted it to be a bit different from some of my usual suspects. Glad to see various appreciators here. I love Krautrock, it is one of my very favourite categories in PA and Krautock has bee na huge influence one many of my favourite bands from the 80s up (the influence of Can, Neu!, Harmonia, Cluster etc. on a lot of Art Pop, Indie, Experimenal Rock and Neo-Psych bands, as well as on Post-Punk, Gothicy ones etc.)

Great selection; I like all of them! My preferred ones may be Can (of course), A.R & Machines and Agitation Free. Malesch gets my vote.
