Has anyone seen this Led Zeppelin tribute band?
I think they concentrate themselves around the Midlands (of England..).
I saw them last night at a pub in Nottingham, and they were awesome. If
it wasn't for the times that he was unable able to reach all the
high notes and had to resort to a lower octave - it was a shame -
the vocalist would have sounded just like Robert Plant, and the
guitarist was awesome. He played with a violin bow for the interlude
part of Dazed and Confused. The bassist and Drummer weren't as impressive visually (although the drummer did a good job in the massive solo in Moby Dick).
The drummer was fat and looked completely wasted, like Johnny Vegas,
and the bassist was your typical gormless bassist. When he really got
into a line he tipped his head back and closed his eyes. The music they
played brilliant though, and (I don't really know anything about how LZ
played life, but) it was great how a lot of what they played became
huge medleys of songs, rather than being a generic one-after-another
approach.
(Hope this is in the right topic area. It's technically a live review I suppose, but not of a prog band...)

If you like Zeppolin tribute bands, you should Check out Dread Zeppelin. They do zep covers in a reggae style. And the singer sounds like elvis. It is really a strange combination, but it is executed very well.

There's a cover band called Lez Zeppelin that's made up of all women. I wonder what made them come up with that name, eh?
