What's not to like about Ayreon?

I used to like them, but their last few albums made me quit on the band altogether. Arjen also repeats the same formula over and over, it's become tedious, well, at least for me. I can't even listen to the albums i used to like (i.e. Into the Electric Castle). His other projects are not better.

So Arjen should stop doing what he's uniquely qualified to do ... I guess it's one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" things LOL

Well, Arjen can do what he likes... unlike Cristi, as you'll probably remember, I actually never found a single Ayreon album I enjoyed and have just listed about 10 from 2004 that I preferred greatly.

It's actually an odd one, because I thought the Guilt Machine album was quite reasonable as was the first Stream Of Passion which he was involved in, but never Ayreon or Star One I'm afraid.
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Not what I meant. How did you get that from my words?! Confused
Arjen can do whatever he wants. I am just not going to listen anymore. I thought my post was clear. I quit on the artist, the artist can do whatever he wants.

^ I was being sarcastic. It sounds like the reason you stopped listening to him is that he keeps doing what he does best. That's all I was saying, basically.

Hard to choose here, but I'll go with Panopticon today myself, with honorable mentions to FW, Mastodon, Neurosis and Dillinger..
