Dramatic 1970s Prog Songs?

Great pick. To Be Over is another one that falls in that category from Yes. The guitar solo from Steve Howe on To Be Over is sublime. And the outro....Just play that song at my funeral.

Drama, melodrama... in many ways the essence of 1970's prog, isn't it (maybe less in Canterbury and jazzy fusion etc...)? For me discovering that there existed songs like The Musical Box, In the Court of the Crimson King - and I might as well add Nights in White Satin and Aqualung... I could go on forever. The sense of drama and... I don't know a sense of grand feelings and urgency, was part of the attraction. But here's a few very different suggestions:











-love all of these but a very random/top of my head selection from my early days.
