I thought of this one last night. Both are a bit on the mellow side (at least compared to other songs by these bands) and both are from 1977.

Most on here probably know these two really well but here you go anyway.

Wonderous Stories is pure magic.

Closer to the Heart, while not bad, is an obvious attempt for a single.

Yep. It's hard to argue with that. They were trying to build off the momentum of 2112 and finally get played on the radio. It worked and although CttH wasn't a top forty hit it did get some airplay.

That would have been an unfair poll. LOL An epic vs a short ballad. Big smile

Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure you would still say "closer to the heart" if the other one was "owner of a lonely heart." Wink

I love Both songs a lot, but Wonderous Stories takes my vote, by a small fraction.

From the first YES album that I've purchased
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Both equally
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
