Thanks Jared, I really appreciate that and i 100% agree about BJH; there is a particular mood for me when they are my 'go to' as well.. I felt it particularly hard when Woolly passed away.. i've spun 'Once again' many times over the last year or so. Today i have listened to:

Agree completely about Woolly.... absolutely tragic. I'll be honest, I tend to listen to BJH up to XII far more than anything afterwards because although he didn't contribute greatly to their song-writing, he was utterly essential to their sound, which became very thin after his departure. I think 'Octoberon' is arguably their best, but EiEE will always be my favourite... Land's End! Well, there is a band I haven't listened to in a long, long time! I remember them from Malcolm Parker's Cyclops label, back in the 90's! He did a great deal to bring small prog bands greater exposure when Prog was still rather unfashionable, bless him.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

That's where i got my 3 cds of theirs from! a paper catalogue through the post!! I remember his description of them as 'Yes meets Pink Floyd meets IQ meets Grateful Dead meets Tangerine Dream' or something very like that.. anyway, got my attention and i bought 3 cds.. Pacific Coast Highway and Natural selection are my favourites but it seems they get a fairly mixed (bit 'meh') reaction here.. i'm not too keen on the singer's voice but i like the looser, kind of Micky Hart GD sort of drumming and percussion

He always used to bring his CD stall up to the CRS gigs in Rotherham and we had many a chat; always incredibly enthusiastic. I bought music both at the gigs and by mail-order, which was a lifeline in the days just before the internet. It's a shame he was never able to embrace the technology, because he had practically disappeared by the early noughties...
