Must have been around this time I started taking an interest in the End Of Year polls as I remember putting that Francis Lickerish album in my top five. The Ian Anderson album is good but I have to give it to Lickerish (although most I don't know especially Jeff Wayne's album which passed me by completely lol)

While I have not heard any of these, and the solo albums I most like from that year are not British, but I want to make a nod to the experimental American-British (born in hio in 1943, moved to the UK in 1965, got British citizenship in 1970 and died there in 2019) Scott Walker for Bish Bosch -- he is in PR. It's not an easy-listening album, but here is a fairly digestible, imo, track:
And I want to mention Matt Elliott who is not in PA but does make relevant as progressive folk, avant, and experimental music, I think, for The Broken Man ( I got into him for his Howling Songs album). "Dust Flesh and Bones" of it is superb, I think, but it's not an album for a kid's birthday party. |

A vote for Steve Hackett's Genesis Revisited II. Pure gold.

Hackett.
But the WOTW remake is pretty good, and allows me to mention the lovely Gary Barlow😊 Don’t mock - I saw Take That at the 02 in London in 2019 and it was a great gig - and the fabulous Lee Pomeroy was bassist in his band…. |

I would have voted for him if he was listed. Bish Bosch is a top five album for the 21st century for me. From the others listed in Paul's poll, I'd have to go with Hackett's Genesis Revisted II, a tasteful re-recording of those classics. Anderson's Thick as a Brick 2 was also better than I expected. That is one rambunctious box of tiles!

First vote for Eno with his album 'Lux', I like that stuff. Nothing happens throughout the whole album

I don't remember Brian Eno's Lux album at all now, but if nothing happens throughout the whole album, I guess that must be the reason why I gave it two stars.

I didn't know that. There are several artists in this poll I'd never heard of before. Not that lack of knowledge has ever stopped me running a poll before.
