Can't say I share most of the other posters enthusiasm for a music style that's tantamount to a war crime against sequin but these are clearly Disco influenced and survive with their dignity intact

Saturday Night Fever surely started it, but TGIF made it fun!! Somewhere I have this 2LP album, which includes a 12" Donna Summer 16min single. She was the queen of the disco long song! The Commodores made a special appearance in the movie also with their excellent song Too Hot Ta Trot
I'm gonna have to go dig for it now...

^  Donna Summer has always been the Queen of Disco for me too, and Love to Love You Baby was one of the first Disco albums I ever bought. Long live the Disco Diva! Heart

I had to wonder what TGIF stood for, until I saw the title displayed on the video. We used to have a music show called TFI Friday over here in England, but I couldn't possibly tell you what the initials stood for. Embarrassed

KC and the Robert Fripp Band or KC and the Sunshine Band? The choice is obvious. Give It Up for KC and the Sunshine Band! Clap

Who needs Magma when you have French band Voyage blazing a lava trail From East to West.

Is it Boney M or Patti Boulaye? No, it's Voyage again with Let's Fly Away.

And finally, Souvenirs - the most fun you can have without leaving the comfort of your armchair.

And coming up..... An A-Z of Disco Music - just what you've all been waiting for.  Tongue

^ I love both of those 'Voyage' singles - it takes me right back to 1978!

Funnily enough, yesterday I bought a best of Boney M CD from a local charity shop. Call me 'Daddy Cool'! Smile

I have a best of Boney M 2-CD collection and I'm proud to admit it too. Smile

The Story of "Bonny M" and whatever happened to Bobby Farrell, who ended up looking like Ra-Ra-Rasputin in the later years of his life. Confused
