In the age of AI slop, I think the artist behind the painting used for the cover art for this release should be credited.

^ Thanks, Mayer, but what instruments?

I think "- Mathieu Torres / instruments" adds almost nothing to the album info.

Regarding the instrumentation of the 'La Civilisation de la graine' album (and indeed the other M'Z albums, of which one album and one EP is currently missing from PA) Mathieu Torres is a registered user of this site, and was seen here just three days ago, so seems to be a regular visitor. He could perhaps be contacted via pm by somebody to ask what instruments he played on his albums, or a post requesting this information could be made in this thread he started in June 2022 introducing the 'La Civilisation de la graine' album (there was a second album and a seven track EP released in 2020 called 'L'autopsie du dogme' and 'Cool is Watching You' respectively, which are both currently missing from PA).

He seems to be a guy who likes to interact with his followers, being a prolific live performer, and a contributor to ProgressiveEars too in a thread he started there a few months ago.

It seems from the videos and photos he's posted on his website that he's basically a guitarist, but has other equipment (presumably DAWs of some kind) to create the other sounds that can be heard in his music.

These photos are from a live performance he did at the end of August at the Marquefave associative café in France, and although I don't know what function the rather sinister looking animal head mask performs in his set, he doesn't seem to have much else with him other than his guitars and a couple of electronic gizmos.

None of his albums have been reviewed thus far and only one has any ratings - despite the artist having been added to PA quite a few years ago - so I guess the lack of information isn't really a big deal. None of the other sites that mention him, or have reviewed his albums, say any more than: "Mathieu Torres - All Instruments", so it was just a thought. Embarrassed

Edit: Our current official website link for him is: https://matzizrecords.bandcamp.com/album/prisme, but https://mzprisme.wixsite.com/mz-musique has a lot more info.

- E&O Team: Thanks David, website updated. And artist contacted, waiting for his response.

Axcraft - DANCING MADLY BACKWARDS (http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=7931) is listed as released in 1974, while it is actually recorded in 1974, but released in 1999. Yes, the recordings remained unreleased for 25 years! It is evident even from the front cover, which is clearly digitally designed, something impossible in 1974. The release date should be corrected.

I think it's fine, the release information explains everything:
"Releases information

Artwork: Bill Hasper

CD Akarma ‎- AK 056 (1999, Italy)

LP Akarma ‎- AK 056 (1999, Italy)".

^ BigDaddy is right about the release date IMO - it should be corrected to 1999 .

Thanks Julien.

I added the missing album and EP here and here. I used the musicians info more or less as it appears on Bandcamp for the full length release (please edit the formatting of this info if you feel it doesn't meet the usual PA standards). I couldn't find the instrumentation details for the EP though. Hopefully Mathieu will supply this in due course.

^ Thanks for that information Mathieu. I'll update the 'Cool is Watching You' EP myself, since it was me who added this release. I expect Julien will take care of the 'Emancipés du Vide?' album when he next logs in. Smile

Edit: The original post by mbzr48 referred to the 'La civilisation de la graine' album. Could you also advise the instrumentation, that you (and any guest musicians) used on this release?

Thanks.

The two releases that I added myself have been updated accordingly. I'll add the three missing singles: 'La Nef', 'Hympécita' and 'Hympécita - Live 2024' to your page later tonight.

One thing cropped up during the M'Z updates which you might be able to clear up for me: I'm still using the old PA Discography Standards Policy formatting guidelines for the releases info section that retired admin Dean specified back in November 2010:

4.2 Each album release should be documented in the following format:

disc_type + record_company + label_reference + (release_year + country) + (comment)

So for the 'L'Autopsie du Dogme' album I wrote this:
Digital album Matziz Records (July 28 2020, France)

Note: There is no label reference in this case, and I included the actual date, since there were another couple of releases by M'Z in 2020 (a single and an EP).

However, I noticed that you'd altered it to the following format:

Label: Matziz Records
Format: Digital
July 28, 2020

Is this now the preferred way of formatting the info for this section? I know it's how Mayer always presents it when he adds an album, but wasn't aware that it was now the officially adopted way.
