Once I start on something like this, I just went to get it all done. I had prepared several of the final lists together some time back, but patience is one thing I tend to lack and I am worried about not having much free time in the near future.

My poll list of some of my W favourites:

The Wake
Igor Wakhévitch
Mal Waldron
Scott Walker
Wapassou
Weather Report
Eberhard Weber
Walter Wegmüller
Weidorje
Weyes Blood (aka Natalie Laura Mering)
Wha-Ha-Ha
When
Lenny White
White Noise
The Who
Windy & Carl
A Winged Victory for the Sullen
Wipers
Wire
Witch
Chelsea Wolfe
World's End Girlfriend
Woven Hand
Writing on the Wall
Robert Wyatt

Some not in my poll even if I like them but opted for the 25 above (some I almost decided to, but the list above just felt right to me right now):

The Watch
John Wetton
Alan White
Wigwam
The Wilde Flowers
Tony Williams Lifetime
Steve Wilson
The Winstons
Wippy Bonstack
Wishbone Ash
W*nk
Wobbler
Wolves in the Throne Room
Richard Wright
Link Wray & The Wraymen

If applicable, please choose three acts, or more, or less, from this poll of some of my favourites to vote on and mention in a post, and please mention any of your own favourites. I encourage commentary and discussion on any that you think apply.

Note that not all are included in the Prog Archives database, but to me all of these in the poll are worth mentioning. I'm sure that many will prefer Ws I mentioned not in the secondary non-poll list to what I decided to go with, and I am interested in hearing about what other people's favourites are.

Here are the past polls: 17 "V" List Acts and 8 "X" Rated Acts & 8 "Q" and 18 "U" List Acts & 26 "T" List Acts & 25 "S" List Acts & 25 "R" List Acts & 28 "P" List Acts & 27 "O" List Acts & 27 "N" List Acts & 25 "M" List Acts & 25 "L" List Acts & 25 "K" List Acts & 25 "I and J" List Acts & 25 "H" List Acts & 29 "G" List Acts & 26 "F" List Acts & 25 "E" List Acts & 26 "D" List Acts & 25 "C" List Acts & 25 "B" List Acts & 25 "A" List Acts

None of the above unfortunately Greg... Unhappy

however in the past, the following 'W's have given me pleasure:

(early) Rick Wakeman, Steven Wilson, Wolverine, The Watch, Wastefall & Without Face,, and I would vote for the first three.

I tend to like Steve Walsh, Darryl Way, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, John Wetton, Woolly Wolstenholme, Eric Woolfson, Robert Wyatt & Jeff Wayne in the context of their bands...

I know I've heard some White Willow and Wobbler in the past, but neither are sticking in the memory...

I am quite sure I thought about adding that for the "B" List (the not my favourites for this poll list), but then forgot and did not do so. I have heard music by it years ago and I know it has had fans here.

-----------------------

For me from the poll:

Weyes Blood would be my clear winner in terms of listening here over the past few years. I adore her music, and it is a rare one in my collection that my wife likes too. I hope she comes back to Vancouver for a concert. Or, since my wife frequently travels to California for work, I might get a chance to see her in her native state.

Robert Wyatt: I don't listen to Wyatt as much as I did years ago, but I still love so much of his music and music he was involved in, and I still that Rock Bottom is a truly remarkable album and a masterpiece.

Igor Wakhévitch: I love this modern classical, electronic and psychedelic artist.

If going six, then Waldron (I adore the collaborative album The Call), Wire and Wolfe would also get votes today. Oh, I will give Wire another vote. Been listening to Wire a fair amount of late, in fact the most of any of these recently other than Weyes Blood.

Robert Wyatt would have gotten a vote for me if his only contribution to music was Rock Bottom:)

Scott Walker, Chelsea Wolfe, and Robert Wyatt. What a nice trio that would have made! I unscrewed my circles and spilled iced tea up my nose.
