I have had It Bites in at at least one poll before, but it's really not my bite of tea cake. Gets too AORish for me. |

^I'm surprised that Jared is surpised not to find It Bites included in one of your polls.

Well in fairness, Greg seems to like quite a number of bands I would loosely describe as Indie/Pop Rock and his tastes are generally quite broad, so I thought it was possible they might have encompassed It Bites? Although apparently not...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

From the list, Isotope and Jethro Tull. Off list, and my faves-If and Il Baricentro....

I have liked If. By the way, not that I did include it under B, but with Il Baricentro I would put it under B as I would put it under C if it was Anglicised to The Centre of Gravity. One of my past faves is Il Berlione. It's from Japan, but still adopting an Italian title that references a German city: The Berlin. Ich bin ein donut.

Oxymore is good (3 stars maybe) but Amazonia is just a collection of nature's noises from what I gather. Not really tried to listen to it that much though. Waiting For Cousteau is the only other one to mention. The main piece is a little bizzare but try it on headphones. I love the 21 minute Calypso section on that album , no reason to avoid that one! Vangelis is a big one. I like most of his output the only ones I don't bother with are those very early avant albums (pre 'Earth') and the much later soundtracks for Alexander and El Greco. The other 32 albums I like to varying degrees but they get played at some point or other. Vangelis top five is nearly impossible but I'll have a stab: Heaven and Hell China Direct El Greco (the non film soundtrack) Voices subject to change at any given moment!

^ Thanks. I love J.A. Caesar and thought about where I would put him in this series. It can get tricky with stage names, Takaaki Terahara also goes by J.A. Seazer. the J.A. is for Julius Arnest. I usually put stage names that really sound like actual names generally under the last name as with the "real" artist names. Anyway, I planned to put him under T like Takaaki Terahara (aka J.A. Caesar, J.A. Seazer).

As everybody I like has 2+ votes already, I will give the all too obvious Jethro Tull a vote, and on top of that Jaga Jazzist and Infinien (although use of upper and lowercase in the bandname is mightily annoying). Sorry to Jimi Hendrix.

Skipping the obvious top two, Tull and Hendrix, my votes went to iNFiNiEN, Jaga Jazzist. And Joy Division.
Mentions go to iamthemorning, Jack O the Clock, and Jambinai. |

I wouldn't normally have included J.A. Caesar on a "J-List", but I noticed he's the second artist listed under "J" on ProgArchives, so I thought I might just about get away with it.
