I had Agusa in 41st place of my 2023 albums list. I'm listening to Jordsjų's Salighet from 2023 now and I like the pastoral qualities I heard. The Scandinavians seems to be the modern Prog masters of Symph and retro.

I really enjoyed Agusa's En Annan Värld. That album is haunting and something special. An album to get lost in. But their two latest offerings didn't really leave much of an impression. Not bad. Not at all. The sound in itself is still great and the do what they do really well. But this sort of instrumental "retro prog" needs to be exceptional to stand out. Unfortunately they feel a little generic or by numbers to me.

Truly love the two Jordsjų albums I know: Nattfiolen and Salighet. The vocals contribute to add a distinct personality that I feel Agusa lack at times. They have this wide eyed pastoral magical mystery (tour) that I adore in so many softer early 1970's progrock bands (like these bands that starts with a C: Cressida, Camel, Celeste).

-I'm gonna give my votes to the norwegians.

Hi,

First time I heard of Jordsjo. Time to go listen!!!

You won't be disappointed. One of the best prog bands of the past 10 years or so (imo).

Hi,

It was a good listen, but I think I like Agusa better, for the sense that their long pieces are really well designed and defined, and not appear to be simply a bunch of different segments glued together ... Agusa has a nice continuity that is rare in a lot of music these days.

Both are very nice, and it's difficult to decide which I seem to enjoy better, and likely it is the fact that I heard Agusa first and loved their album. The Jordsjo album did not strike me as strong. But still nice.

Which Jordsjo did you listen to? It could depend on the album (or song).

I have heard both. Both for the first time with their 2017 albuns. My initial impression favored Agusa and that has stuck over the years. My vote went to Agusa.

I like both, but would put Jordsjų over Agusa.

Really like both bands. Jordsjų just a tad more. The microwave gasped out a couple of prefixes at me.

I only know Jordsjų, which is one of my favourite present day bands.
