It's nice to see there's at least half as many votes so far (13 against 26) for the solo albums against the mighty Genesis, with Steve Hackett picking up a very respectable seven votes and there's even a single (unclaimed) vote for Phil Collins too, although I'll refrain from saying the obvious again.

I'm the one who voted for Rutherford. It's quite a bad album, but Stewart Copeland did a good job.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Even Mike Rutherford managed to pick up a vote here, so anything's possible, although it's Against All Odds that Phil Collins will pick up any votes at all (in any poll).

1. Anthony Phillips - Wise After the Event (one of my all-time favorites!)
2. Steve Hackett - Please Don't Touch 3. Phil Collins - Hello I Must Be Going The only songs I like on Trespass are "Stagnation" and "Dusk". "The Knife" has some good moments, but is far too sloppy. I maintain my position that Foxtrot is the first "real" Genesis album. |

It was worth running this series of polls just to discover Ray Wilson's albums for the first time. Well, it was worth it for me anyway, even if for no one else. Anyway, I'm not so sure The Lamb will win the sixth poll in the series, although I've been wrong before.

This is a pointless series (IMHO), since until W&W (if not Duke), no solo albums is likely to stand a chance at winning the poll. one exception, of course is the FGTR poll.
we won't even get a good/accurate chance to see which of the solo albums is preferred by our membership.
Tresspass with Hackett, Phillips and Gabriel very distant seconds. Edited by Sean Trane - July 15 2024 at 02:13 |

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

^ Randy Crawford and Steve Hackett? That sounds like an ideal partnership for the Soul Prog Blog.

I am little surprised by the ''Obviously'' coming from you! Please Don't Touch is more a pop crossover prog album for Hackett that I would have thought would appeal to you more. It even has Randy Crawford on it lol. I voted for it as I only really like Stagnation and The Knife on Trespass.

Trespass - Excellent album. Rightfully stands with the albums that follow
PG2, Wicked Lady, Hello I Must Be Going, Please Don't Touch, Wise After the Event - All very good, all different styles here. Acting Very Strange - I've tried many times to like this but ultimately, it's a no go for me with a couple of decent tracks I've never listened to Ray's The Next Best Thing, I'll have to fix that

Trespass. When I was born I came with three free sofa cushions and a coupon for free pancakes at McDonald's.
