These are 25 albums that I think contain a punky-prog aesthetic to a greater or lesser degree.  Please vote for one of them and mention it in a post, and then feel free to mention any others.  There are lots t I like that I did not list that i think could be suitable.  In fact, there's a lot of post-punk that I would relate to progressive rock.

Another of Greg's polls where I don't know the majority of bands, but struggle to get excited about the ones I have heard... Punky Prog is just not for me, I'm afraid.. any time a band did a 'punked up' number, it tended to turn out to be a mistake, unless you were Van der Graaf Generator, of course.

I've voted Twelfth Night as I did like some of their music and this was their best...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I really like that Cardiacs album. It’s almost like Post Punk cross pollinating with Prog. I’m a Punk guy with an interest in Prog, so I find it to be a great middle ground sort of album.

I love lots of punky,\ and punk-influenced music (including of the pronk, art rock and experimental rock varieties).  I think I'll play some Wire right now.

Voted Camberwell Now.

Make mine Exposure.  Also, Fripp's amazing dance band "The League of Gentlemen" would qualify nicely!

League of Gentleman is my favorite punky prog album, and Remain in Light is my favorite of the ones listed here.

The Ghost Trade is the best, and that means quite something as there are many great albums. I particularly mention Peter Hammill's Patience, an album that is rarely discussed, but is my favourite of his solo work.

I gave Thinking Plague a vote but This Heat is pretty groovy too.

Hamill Peter
imho Nadir's big chance would have been a better choice.

King Crimson - Discipline. The Talking Heads meet Crimson.

A lot of albums I enjoy here (by This Heat, Kayo Dot, black midi, Art Bears, Beeheart...) so this would have been difficult for me if Children of God wasn't in the poll.

Btw: For Voivod I would personally have gone for Killing Technology in this context.

Reading "punky prog", my first thought was "Cardiacs" even before seeing the list.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution
