The only album I have heard of those listed is Vashti Bunyan's Lookaftering. While it's more than pleasant enough, it's not an album that particularly grabbed me. In fact I have not listened to it since suggesting her for PA. Still, I'll give it a vote.

Good call. Much as I like Paul Roland, I have yet to hear this album (at least in full). My first of his was 1987's Paul Roland & The Hellfire Club's A Cabinet of Curiosities.

By the way, I was talking music with my 17 year old son earlier (he composes for the piano - self-taught) and I described my tastes as quirky. He wanted me to be more specific.
