I can think of many bands who had Three of a Perfect Pair during the 1980's, but sadly, that doesn't apply to King Crimson.

PA's Top 100 Progressive Rock Albums of 1984 (Mk III version with the minimum number of ratings filter set at 24)
37. 1984: Thinking Plague - A Thinking Plague 42. 1984: French TV - French TV 45. 1984: Gerard - Gerard 48. 1984: Jazz Q - Hvezdon / Asteroid 66. 1984: Foxtrot - A Shadow of the Past
A surprisingly good year for prog which is only spoilt by Univers Zero being at #1. I'd sooner buy a Uzed car from Arthur Daley than listen to another Univers Zero album.

PA's Top 100 Progressive Rock Albums of 1988 (Mk III version with the minimum number of ratings filter set at 14)
17. 1988: Faust - The Last LP 26. 1988: Cassiber - A Face We All Know 28. 1988: Madrigal - Waiting - 43. 1988: Suu's & the Motor Totemist Guild - Elements 61. 1988: Cross - Uncovered Heart
This Top 100 is back to front if the dismal Top 20 is anything to go by.
There's also too many Death Metal bands in this Top 100 for my liking and with repulsive names such as Coroner, Death, Leprosy and Pestilence, you just know they're going to sound absolutely dreadful.

And I really like Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden, Cardiacs' A Little Man and a House, and I like Faust's The Last LP. My friends used to call me a pessimist, but I realise that I can seem very optimistic in these parts by comparison. I do prefer to focus on what I appreciate more than what I don't commonly.
