I'm also a big fan of Icehouse. As far as 'International' synth pop bands are concerned, has anyone heard of 'Our Daughter's Wedding' from the USA? They date back to the early eighties. I think 'Lawnchairs' is probably their best known song.

^ From the ten international artists and songs listed, my personal favourite is Propaganda's Dr. Mabuse - produced by Trevor Horn (who's also on bass) with Geoff Downes on keyboards and Alan White on drums. Yes, it's three-fifths of the 1980 YES line-up back together again in a 2004 re-Union without the Drama.

It's long been A Secret Wish of mine to see my favourite German Synth-Pop band perform Live, and a Dream within a Dream just came true, because here's Propaganda as they were then ( back in 1985) and as they are now (in 2012), and so we can all have a proper gander now at lovely Claudia Brucken and Susanne Freytag.

Are Friends Eclectic? We're travelling back to the future, to a time way back when Gary Numan was the future once. But who were the early pioneers of electronica before that? The story begins with Del Shannon's Runaway in 1961 and the Tornado's Telstar in 1962 before moving on to the emergence of Doctor Who and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in 1963, the innovative Silver Apples in 1968, and swiftly followed by the rise of Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream in the early 1970's. But how did we get to the point where "Are Friends Electric" became number one in 1979? This is the story of how Synth-Pop became Synth-Pop.

The duo of Neil Arthur and Stephen Luscombe reunited briefly in 2011, but Luscombe was forced to leave the band due to ill health, leaving Neil Arthur to continue alone with a revolving-door line-up of various guest musicians appearing on subsequent albums.
