I deliberately left them out as I shall also omit the other live albums in this series of polls. Essentially Ummagumma is two entirely disparate single albums that weirdly meld together to make a splendid double!

Grantchester Meadows, but in reality I have always found the studio cuts on this a bit of a mess and have never really enjoyed any of them.

I went with Several Species etc.

They never again released anything that weird.

When I take out this album I always play Sysyphus and Grand Vizier.  Several Species is nuts with Waters playing with tape loops.  Grantchester Meadows is calming but the best part are the effects with the stairs paper and the fly.  Most of Narrow Way sounds like it needs more work.  I went with Grand Vizier because who doesn't like a good drum solo. Smile

Yeah the Narrow Way wasn't Dave's best work, but then again he's never (for me) made an entirely satisfying solo album either.

I really like all of the tracks here, The Narrow Way in particular. Love the psych ambience to it and Part 2 have one of my favorite guitar riffs ever. The eerie Sysyphus is a close 2nd, and the experiments of Several Species and Grand Vizier's never fail to entertain me. Grandchester is a really nice tune too *fly SWAP!!*

Same for me. I don't think the studio experiments are all that succesful. I mean they have their moments, but not enough for me to revisit the C & D-side very often.

I have this album and actually listened to it a couple of weeks ago. However, I'm not really familiar with it enough to say which one I like best. Maybe part of that is that I don't really always pay that close attention to song titles. I do like several species though but not sure I would vote for it.

Grantchester Meadows
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

'Grantchester Meadows' stands head and shoulders above the rest IMO, tho 'Several Species...' is good fun.
