^ Agreed, safe is relative. There seem to be large "bubbles" within the prog community, there's a whole bunch of people who will not listen to many new releases in general, so to those nothing from 2023 can be "safe". There's people who are only into retro stuff as far as new bands are concerned - music that mimics the 70s. Then there's a big group of people who don't like that at all. Then theres people like me who have a broad taste and go for quality rather than a particular sound or style. For me, any recommendation is "safe" since it's all music, and I try not to be prejudiced (and yes, I've listened to MerzbowWink).

^ Agree. Incidentally, with some of the smaller, hermetically sealed bubbles especially, I would rather wish that I had a pin to pop them. Maybe so some new perspectives can reach them.

It's interesting. I didn't actually vote in this poll and yet my name still pops up for a few. Weird. :P I do, however, agree with the number one album. :)
