I don't know how to find this and I don't do social media so could you link it please This is terrible news. I'm not sure what Gleb's residency status is in the UK but maybe the UK government could be involved. I saw them perform in London just before the pandemic. They are lovely people and certainly deserve support.

It is more about Israel in Palestina, but yes: there is a conflict going on there. But it appears that some band members are Israeli passport holders, so this might explain that... Very good news that they've all been released!

This seems the best place to invite you to search about Grup Yorum on the web. A tragic story involving a dictator that EU is financing with billions € to stop the refugees from crossing the borders to Europe, even if most of the refugees are caused by his troops in Syria. Grup Yorum was a band of skillful musicians who died in the Turkish jailhouses because of their political involvement. Similar in some ways to what happened to Victor Jara after the putsch in Chile in 1973. But Turkey is in the Nato and called "friend" by NATO, USA and EU. Many years ago I've been there for work and it was a fantastic Country with fantastic people. Now it's a nigthmare. |
