That's awful, also i don't think it's got anything to do with the Genesis song.

What I meant to say was that metal covers of pop songs are mostly fun to listen to, they often become catchy metal songs.

There is a metal tribute to ABBA everyone seems to enjoy.

^ Visually it's a parody, musically it's a really good and authentic cover for the most part (Leo usually adds an experimental part about half-way through).

^ Leo has done hundreds of metal covers, most of them for non-prog songs. Amazing musical ability, as well as video recording skills. He runs a studio in Norway.

Here's an interesting one, with a prog angle because it features Jørgen Munkeby from Shining. A hot, avant-garde take on a Pop song ...

This is really sad ... if you sit through Rachel Flowers doing this on the piano, you will find it to be one of the greatest piano concerts you ever heard. At the time, if you took the score of "Tarkus" to a music professor at the university, you would get a low grade. You have nailed one of my pet hates on this forum, taking a comment out of context so it becomes meaningless. I was responding to another remark about Trilogy being their weakest album and so responded with brief descriptions for each album and a wider view that ELP were mainly only a prog band for the first 5 albums (not a hot take). So my comment was about the album not the track. The track is perfect but the album falls off the cliff. No one is disagreeing with me on that.

Hot take: I find the use of Greek song titles and lyrics by the Chinese act Hoplites to be extremely forced. Kinda culturally insensitive even. :P I can get why artists are using English, cuz it's an international language or some bogus stuff like Kobaïan to add that "celestial" touch or something but the stunts Hoplites is doing feels kinda weird to me. YMMV

Hot take: Cultural appropriation is actually not a problem, in fact a truly diverse society depends on it. We don't need a culture police.

Relayer is a mess
If an album gives a "normal" person a headache, it will receive positive reviews on Prog Archives (see comment 1)
While I don't consider the Beatles to be a prog band, Sgt Pepper deserves a spot on the top 100 list.
How is it possible that "Wish You Were Here" is more highly rated than "Dark Side" or "The Wall"?
