![]() Tangerine Dream's 186th album. Probe 6-8 is a 40 minute, 5-track EP that serves as a prelude to Tangerine Dream's acclaimed Raum album, which is coming up shortly in 2022. ![]() |

![]() Tangerine Dream's 187th album. Yes, it's finally here! The much-acclaimed Raum is the second studio album from the new TD trio and a real return to form. The Raum album with its classic analog sound represents a continuation of the legacy of Edgar Froese's musical genius. It's a new beginning for Tangerine Dream, and on that note, this is What You Should Know About Endings. ![]() Edited by Psychedelic Paul - December 13 2023 at 05:07 |

Raum is a much better post-Froese effort than its predecessor, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's mostly Thorsten with minimal contributions from the other two, in spite of what the credits read. I could be (very) wrong.

Hi,
Been listening to those "sessions" and almost all of them from the Schnauss era are excellent, and quite a listen. Just heard like 3 times in a row the one from 2:28 (something like that) which had an eastern city (Chinese? Japanese?) in it ... and another which was all ocean that started with a lighthouse ... Excellent stuff, and much better than the "releases" ... and you can see the band expanding and playing to the work at hand, and in both of these there were magnificent moments.

![]() Tangerine Dream's 188th album. Oh, the horror, the horror! Strange Behavior is the belated, darkly atmospheric soundtrack to a 1981 slasher movie recorded by the TD trio of Froese, Franke & Schmoelling. Don't have nightmares! ![]() Edited by Psychedelic Paul - December 17 2023 at 04:09 |

![]() Tangerine Dream's 189th album. We're going way way back this time with a classic live performance from Reims, France in 1975 with the original TD trio of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke & Peter Baumann. Edited by Psychedelic Paul - December 17 2023 at 06:26 |

![]() A one-off EP that's never been released on CD, presumably because 27 minutes is far too short for a Tangerine Dream EP. ![]() Edited by Psychedelic Paul - December 17 2023 at 07:16 |

![]() Tangerine Dream's 190th album. An album for serious TD collectors, as this poor-quality recording is the only known concert from the short-lived Cyclone line-up in 1978, featuring Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, Steve Jolliffe & Klaus Kruger.

Hi,
I have a feeling that TD is becoming a live experience, and CD's ... oh well ... you missed the live experience! All of these "sessions" and other works, stand out beautifully as a live experiment, and way better than any of the CD's since Edgar Froese left us ... which defines something else about the music ... and one other unusual thing ... the sessions with Ulrich Schnauss are better than the ones with Paul Frick ... at least listening wisse, as it seems like the Paul Frick "sessions" (listening to Silent Green) is a bit more on the soft side of things, reminding me of Rubycon moments ... it's that quiet. I suppose that Paul Frick is simply getting his bearings, but in an improvisation? What bearings? Regardless, the live experience is far superior to the CD stuff, and worth the listen ... with one problem for you and all of us ... there is so much ... so much ... and so far out and different, that deciding on one of them or two of them, is an issue. But for me, at least now, the live experience with the sessions and some guest folks is way too good and far out and far superior to any of their CD's since Edgar went on a permanent vacation without us!

![]() At last! Tangerine Dream's 191st album and their latest album to date, so we didn't quite make it to the 200th album mark together. The Sessions VIII album was recorded at two separate sessions in Warsaw and Gdansk in Poland and then ingeniously melded together into one - a bit like one of Spock's mind melds in Star Trek. ![]() Coming up next, it's back to the future with the entire discography of Klaus Schulze, who you may recall was in the original TD trio for the Electronic Meditation album way back where it all began in 1970. |

Hi, Same. I think she added something to the band that was not as clearly seen as it is now. There was a touch, a sensuality that came through, which I think was from her. Just sad, that it appears that she has quit music altogether. Nothing from her anywhere that makes sense, and it's like a whole musical life, thrown away ... there, obviously, was something else going on that we didn't/don't know about ... people don't get "hurt" like that and not recover unless it affects the mortal coil. I remember a few years back I wrote her a poem, and sent it and she thanked me nicely, and was appreciative, and all I wanted was to see "the rose" bloom again ... it hasn't yet, despite the rose bush at the lake blooming beautifully and attracting all the young deer, and over here in my front door, a dilapidated rose bush, still gives us a bloom or two each and every time. I guess we can only hope that she is capable of creating something worth while, though I think that it might not "stand up" to the TD flow and standard, but even if it were just solo piano, I would be happy! I would be even happier with "Linda's Garden", but I'm not sure she can hear me! Maybe I'll do the poems in voice with the music and send them to her ... this time with music. It won't be my first time doing my poetry to music, having first done it on the Ygdrasil Journal of Poetic Arts in the 1999 audio issue I created for the magazine. Ideas ... ideas ... damn, I hate ideas!

Tangerine Dream Team: Passed and Presence KLAUS SCHULZE (1947-2022) In the Timewind of Tangerine Dream's history, Klaus Schulze was right there at the Moondawn as one of the original TD trio on their debut album: Electronic Meditation. Klaus Schulze would soon go on to firmly establish his Audentity and reach even greater stratospheric heights though with the Trancefer of his energies to an outstanding fifty-year solo career. Sadly, a permanent change of cosmic address finally beckoned in 2022, when he's now somewhere up there where the Stars Are Burning brightly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Coming up next.....
