I believe he (?) still posts on the Hoffman forums though. He has been banned from PE also.

it all depends on what you'd define as an epic. personally i'd label lumpy gravy by frank (formerly known as francis because thats what he believed his first name was) zappa was one of the first AVANT-prog epics

I would suggest pairingTouch's  'Alesha & Others' which leads into '75' as a so-called epic. Recorded 1968 and released 1969.
