Assuming I can stretch the "prog" relevance for some of these (no particular order):

Yes - Relayer
Big Big Train - The Underfall Yard/The Difference Machine
The Impossible Shapes - Bless the Headless
mewithoutYou - Brother, Sister
Gentle Giant - Free Hand (kinda depends on the day though)

I have favourite albums that aren't by favourite artists which I've left out.

hmmmmm...

We're going down the alphabet and are now on letter I - in case you haven't noticed by the title and other postings ShockedWink

The ^^ works but I don't know them, and BBT and GG have been covered. I would go English Part 1 and Free Hand (Funny enough, that's the one I would put on right now to hear Giant Big smile)

I don't like their second album either, but to me, this one is as good as Prog Metal. Smile

Whoops! Completely missed that bit of context, ha. If I'm limited to the letter I I'll need to give this some more thought!

English Electric is of course wonderful. If I'm being totally honest and indulgent, then my favourite BBT is the whole stretch of works running from Difference Machine to EE full power (incl. Far Skies Deep time).

Right above you there Van ^^ (check the post before yours)

We covered these (highlighted) but my picks would be Clear Spot and Free Hand for CB and GG Smile
