Epic! I'm not an expert on production by ANY means, but it sounds great to me! Love that Synth sound

This is amazing, could be a game soundtrack to an old retro game! (Perhaps a Boss Fight?) (And I love the title)

Interesting ! Rhythmically more progressive and European sounding. On the heavy side of things however more progressive oriented. Somewhat stylistically based on The Enid's vocals...but only to a degree and therefore not totally. European sounding and very good |

I miss being in a band, but I'm not in Europe, Australia, or Asia, and for some reason, it's been impossible to find other musicians here in my hometown of the US, and tried to find online collaborators with no success. When I had $5, I found a woman who could sing a few seconds of vocables for me to paste on a song I wanted to find on here actually (except from the 70s) My cousin from California came to visit me and showed me so many bad drummers who can't "get" Keith Moon, so I did a quick impromptu, adding it on my YouTube. Despite having over 4,000 subscribers, I haven't been able to find work, or even someone to back-and-forth songs with (using Audacity, for example). I spent the last few years writing brass and orchestral arrangements, but as a one-man band with no money, I realize it's over, but I might upload anything I find. I'd love if I had a ton of money to have a studio where I can jam/record with other musicians.. I've always wanted to do something with this, adding guitar, piano, bass, etc... https://youtu.be/OfxIt4H0RM8

Thanks :) Really enjoying this - lot's of great musicianship and fun sections. The main thing that holds it back for me is the dryness of the mix and sound of the drums. I think the drums in particular are too roomy/boxy for the genre. It's far from a bad mix though and I think the content of the songs still manages to shine through quite a bit in spite of that. It kind of gives a "live studio session" vibe. A lot of the guitar tones are very tasty. I can see me returning to it. Edit: not sure what your influences are but picking up a lot of different classic flavours. Iron Maiden, Jethro Tull, Led Zep, Guns n Roses, etc.

while two projects of mine are already on PA (ARLEKIN, neo-prog, and KROBAK, instrumental post-rock), there's this third band of mine I'm constantly told is not prog enough*
STONED JESUS Well, prog or not it's decent enough heavy rock and also is my main source of income in the last 10+ years *even though totally similar bands like ELDER, BARONESS, SOMALI YACHT CLUB, YOB, SHIVA THE DESTRUCTOR, SAMSARA BLUES EXPERIMENT, ANCESTORS, TEMPLE OF THE SMOKE, SUNGRAZER and dozens of others, all have been added to PA Edited by Prog-jester - November 04 2023 at 13:00 |

^^ just listened to Porcelain. I would put it somewhere under the prog umbrella. I love the vibe! Def get the Baroness connection. Mastodon too. Part of me wants a jazz piano section to come out of nowhere, haha. Maybe that's the "not prog enough" complaint inside me! Either way I like it and i'll check out more.

thanks Joel! Each SJ album got a couple of proggy tracks (except the debut which is doom metal as it gets), so I'll post two more:
(this one got almost 16 million YouTube views for some reason, people REALLY love it) (this one is more SWANS-influenced than prog but hey, SWANS are also on PA hehe) |

I'm still browsing your spotify and there's a lot I like across what i've sampled. Some highlights have been Wound, Here Come the Robots, and Molerats - Molerats is great. Quite different from the rest of what i've been hearing. I'll check out the other ones you've posted as well :)
Since this is the thread for it, here's my band's new album (should anyone feel so inclined): https://open.spotify.com/album/1ldRvkj0TwNQAn2hzw2YQK?si=uXkLV5NkQ0ejkmnlT52Ldw "Moving Forward, Part 1" and "Archaeologist" are probably the most "prog" of the lot. |
