Wait....no Pogues? Rum, Sodomy & the Lash? They're just as "Irish" as the Waterboys (in fact, Mike Scott of WB is in fact Scottish and Karl Wallinger was Welsh).

^ Microdisney are surely one of the most underrated Irish bands. Still, it's better to be underrated than overlooked.

just as well since it would have been tough to choose between Clannad and Pogues this year. Two very different albums, but perhaps the pinnacle for Clannad and definitely for the Pogues
