By popular demand (and a certain poll), I am pleased to announce the return of the New Release Report -- now in collaboration with MikeEnRegalia! Smile

Thanks to Mike's help, the NRR has now been revamped with a new, more accessible format. On top of this, I will be adding blurbs for each album on future reports -- as well as slowly integrating blurbs into this one over time. Just a little description to get folks hyped for each album on the list.

Heavy prog newcomers Advent Horizon have released their third album A Cell to Call Home. Teaming up with such legendary collaborators as cover artist Travis Smith and metal producer Jens Bogren, the band are taking a listener through a journey that’s equal parts beautiful and sorrowful – all through the lens of a protagonist who is struggling to overcome addiction.
19 years after their sophomore album Regaining the Feel, American fusion-prog group Land of Chocolate have finally returned with their long-awaited third outing Your Finest Hour. Containing an hour of original music, the album continues in the vein of the group’s previous two releases: bombastic, technically dazzling, and with a nice dose of heaviness to seal the deal.
The newest release in Asturias’ “electric” series, Dimensions sees composer and multi-instrumentalist Yoh Ohyama continuing to explore the possibilities of the neo-prog sound. The 6-song LP is an immersive listen, taking listeners on a journey that’s equal parts dramatic and technical – culminating in the 20-minute behemoth “Fourth Dimension Suite”.

The third LP from Italian progressive metal act Moto Armonico, Wondering Land sees the band exploring a fantasy concept inspired by a story by Annamaria Ferrari. The record maintains the group’s penchant for creating solid traditional prog metal, balancing dazzling technical displays with rich emotional storytelling.
Elysium is the latest effort in Jay Tausig’s extremely vast body of work, exploring the prolific California musician’s trademark blend of progressive rock and space rock. Within these 4 epics, you’re sure to find a record that’s as adventurous as anything in Tausig’s back catalog.
London-based psych/prog outfit Teeth of the Sea are back with their 7th record Hive. True to its name, the album is heavily inspired by Frank Herbert’s 1973 novel Hellstorm’s Hive; as such, the music often mirrors the dystopian sci-fi atmosphere of the book. Hive sees the band getting more experimental and adventurous than ever, resulting in a record that’s as unsettling as it is fascinating.
Tatsuya Yoshida, best known for his work with the Zeuhl duo Ruins, has teamed up with fellow experimental musician Risa Takeda for a new live album.

Norwegian symphonic/folk-prog act Jordsjø have returned with a record that’s equal parts folk, jazz, classical, and traditional 70s prog. Salighet is a diverse showing that channels these influences into a signature style inspired by Scandinavian folklore, displaying the duo at the top of their game.

Hi,

Goodness gracious ... I have a lot to listen to!

I see Acqua Fragile listed ... with Bernardo back in it, too. The early stuff with him was great.

Listening to The Spacelords. And it is produced/mixed by Eroc of Grobschnitt fame.

The Richard Sinclair should also be nice, although it seems to be some best of stuff from his earlier days.  I miss the stuff from "Caravan of Dreams" that was so neat and fun ... 

One more note ... I'm not listening to stuff that is all small cuts and trying to be "progressive". Tired of the cookie cutter copies and crap!

Apologies for posting this in this thread but I think I may be off the Glass Hammer bus as from now. I haven't heard their latest but it's just got too expensive to think of buying import CD's (cost of living squeeze) plus not easy to rip into my library now the CD burner had packed in on my old desktop pc (the MP3 album is also quite expensive by the looks of it). Its been a long and rewarding experience up to now. I bought my first GH album over 20 years ago (Chronomotree) and regard many of their albums as modern symh classics. The recent Rush influenced trilogy of albums are great. Thank's boys for everything but its sayonara for now. (stil on my wishlist of bands to see live if they ever travel in the UK direction)

Back on topic I have added a good half dozen or so of those albums to my streaming library that I wasn't even aware existed. Many thanks as there is a lot of work involved.

^ Being completely honest, I'm probably just going to concentrate on forthcoming months. 

I was considering doing a backlog of the previous months, but considering the length of the gap, an undertaking like that would be a bit overwhelming -- especially with me trying to add blurbs and other supplementary things to the reports
