I've got three Ayreon albums (Human Equation, Electric Castle, Dream Sequencer) I really like them, but they are so sonically busy that I have problems focusing on all the stuff that is going on. So for that they get my No.6 position.

I have a fair sprinkling of 21st Century Symphonic Metal favourites too (including Avantasia), so I could add those to the human equation later too if you like.

Some great stuff there, but the idea is to do it by letter starting at A.

Yes I did, first line of my text.
Granted, in trying to save space, it wasn't in the post title, which I have since edited. No worries Edited by LAM-SGC - October 29 2023 at 22:39 |

Yes, it says Fave Five, so I'm choosing five favourite Hard Rock/Metal bands beginning with the letter "A", just like you did at the top of the page, although I can't promise there'll be exactly five albums by each artist.

You could start at the beginning with Aesma Daeva's debut album and then work your way through. That's what I usually do. 1999: Aesma Daeva - Here Lies One Whose Name Was Written in Water - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nQLLfKq6zQMJO1jkECUxSjjBtJuHAowEk

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I thought of these two as well, but I didn't know if we were supposed to add prog-metal bands. (Although I did add Arch/Matheos to my list, so what do I know )

I thought of Astra too, but I didn't know if they were heavy enough to include them here.

In my opinion, definitely 2001: Aesma Daeva - The Eros of Frigid Beauty which I also consider to be Prog Metal, even the band is not on PA.

quality over quantity, and all kind of PopcoRn almost beyond

Nice to see Avatarium mentioned ... but are they prog? They're definitely adjacent at least in my book, but not yet included on PA.
