Which supergroup (if both can be called that) do you prefer?

Pattern-Seeking Animals. I still need to give their newest album a listen. Sometimes there are exceptions to onions, and these are mostly trucks, plungers, and sit-ups.

Being a Spock's Beard fan, I've dabbled with both but nothing really grabbed me. It was a while ago though so maybe I will revisit both bands

I slightly like Flying Colors more, so it gets my vote. Both are great bands to me.

How is that possible? I thought you knew practically every band on the planet. Tongue

If either band are British then I probably would've heard of them by now, but I'm guessing they're from either Canada or the United States, as they're two prog nations I haven't explored yet. It'd also explain why you've heard of them and I haven't. In the meantime, I have a sumo-sized mass of Japanese Prog to explore. Sayonara. Smile

I think all members are from the US. I guess you need to take a little boat ride over here. Time to cross the pond Paul! LOL

Paul, when you cross the pond I'll buy you dinner at my favorite barbecue restaurant! As you should know, KC has the best BBQ in the world.

The only pond I'll be crossing  is the pond at the end of my street after all the rainfall we had recently, but thanks for the offer anyway. Wink

In Pennsylvania we eat rocks. It's why the Appalachians are so much shorter than the Rockies.

I read that as KFC has the best Barbecue. Not sure why my brain added the K. It must have had a long day. Lol.

I guess you've heard of Steve Morse, Neal Morse and Mike Portnoy though?

Flying Colours are a bone fide supergropup while I think it's harder to make a case for PSA (Jimmy Keegan on drums is nowhere near as well know as Portnoy for instance). I voted for PSA mainly because they have more interesting albums overall although the first Flying Colours album is well worth checking out.

^ Yes, Steve Morse was/is the guitarist with Deep Purple, Neal Morse is the man behind Spock's Beard and Mike Portnoy is the original drummer with Dream Theater. Thumbs Up

I would recommend checking out the first album by both bands. Both are excellent. I bought Flying Colors' second album and it wasn't as good, and I haven't really managed to get into the other PSA albums yet.

^ there is a new Pattern-Seeking Animals album just released. I had a listen yesterday and like it although it's nothing earth shattering.
